mark axlecounter
Just noticed the 2 vans behind the loco thought I got away with it ha ha. The back to backs were out by a lot. I tried to capture the pics in stages. There is still a lot to do before its first show at Rochdale town hall in march ( heywood model railway show ). mark axlecounter
Now that the local has gone into the sidings, it will now shunt the wagons around. When all shunt movements are done the train will come back out and carry on to the next station. Any thoughts or comments are welcome.

mark axlecounter
That's all the pics I took on Monday. I had operators training Yesterday and it was fun to to just stand back and let them lose on the layout. As stated before there is still a lot of work to do before its first showing at Rochdale town hall in march. If any one is coming to the HMRG show in march come and say hello. mark axlecounter
Hopefully the "to do list " is going down slowly but it will be at the stage where all the buildings are complete and more detail is added for the first show.
RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted January 26, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 26, 2017 Hi Mark, Just seen your layout - looks superb. Nice photographs too. They trackwork is exemplary, love that scissor crossover and the single slip, full of admiration! Yet to attempt anything that complex! Nice job Rich
mark axlecounter
Thanks Rich I took out the scissor crossover because i made bucks lane roundy. Before it was end to end but it got boring, so the decision was made to make it round and round. It's a lot more fun now. The single slip is like the one at Horrocksford in Clitheroe and it makes for interesting operations. Mark
mark axlecounter
I went down to the club on Monday and did a bit more on the layout, nothing exciting just wiring. Then I decided to do some more movements and to get the operators to do them. Here are some pics from Monday. Hope they are ok.

mark axlecounter
Thanks sp1. I will try and update more often but the layout is at the club (its 23x10 feet ) and it cannot fit in the garage so I can only do things on a Monday night and the odd day when I can. BL has got its first show in March so I'm hoping I will have it done by then.

mark axlecounter
Thanks lmsforever, I will keep up the progress on BL. I have enjoyed building it and learning what to do and what not to do and I have a lot more things to do on BL. Mark Towers
mark axlecounter
Well I did go to the club and did some work on bucks lane. I had an idea on how to store and take to shows, I will put some pics up when I get them sorted. One board will go under another so they can fit in my box trailer and the other parts of bucks lane can fit around it. As I say the pics will explain better. I have been happy and enjoying building the layout. Mark Edited February 7, 2017 by mark axlecounter
