mark axlecounter
Thanks Mike, Yea bucks lane is a roundy round it is the same as the other end. If I can get some pics tonight I will post on here. I was trying to get the line from the goods yard to the fiddle yard sorted but I need to think about it. I have had some bad news this week. I have a lunar zenith six caravan and I have had a problem with the near side wheel rubbing on the outer spat. Looks like the axle has weak rubbers ( independant rubber suspension ) new axle is £1000 plus. Looks like I will be selling my body to pay for it ha ha. mark axlecounter
Here are a few pics from the other day. One full and one empty 16t trains. This is the reason why I went for a roundy layout. Mark

mark axlecounter
And here is the board I was going to make so the goods yard goes to the fiddle yard. And this is the caravan what has put the layout on hold until I can sort it out ( rubbers have been compressed to much ) Edited September 22, 2017 by mark axlecounter
mark axlecounter
I have had some news today. There is a company who can replace the rubbers in the axle for half of the price of a new axle. The only thing I need to do is remove the axle from the van. I have spoken to a caravan tech who use to work for lunar and he has advised me how to take the axle off, so with that in mind I will do the caravan in a few months time, but I now can think of doing the fiddle yard modification. So here is a crosti on a full length train. Mark

67A
C'mon Mark get the spanners out and save some money for more important things - you get my meaning?! Love the weathering on that coal train mate.
mark axlecounter
Thanks Andy and Mike. The crosti is a golden arrow resin body on a Bachmann 9f some modification but it fits a treat. The wagons are weathered by applying the paint on them wiping it off again. I will show some close ups on Monday night. The caravan will wait now as I won't be going away until next year. Andrew P
Excellent Mark, it does look like your enjoying it mate, Sell the Caravan and buy a Tent for the Holidays and invest the dosh into the Railway, hahah
mark axlecounter
Well Andy I have had some good news they can repare the axle with new rubbers at around £450 plus vat. I have had a trailer tent and the boss didn't like it but liked the caravan. Tents are to low to the floor she says. I have had caravans for years and this is the only one what has had a fault on the axle. I've got to much locos and stock now I don't use a lot of them. mark axlecounter
Just to keep people upto date I will be having a break from bucks lane. The reason is I am in the hospital just had my Appendix out so I was going to do some more picks of loco movements but that will have to go on hold for the time being. I am ok just feels like most of the England ruby squad has booted me lol.So that was my birthday present for myself. On a happier side I have ordered a Hornby sir William a stanier with Jim at loco shed so when I am well again I will be going to get her. mark axlecounter
Just an update on how things are with bucks lane. After having my appendix removed in November I had to rest for about 6 weeks (not lifting heavy things ) I decided that I wanted a distance signal on the layout, so with the thought of that I made a stop signal with a distance signal under it. Now I made the signal it was a case of where to put it. There was only one place it could go so I made a start on making the signal fit the layout. Where I put the signal is near the stone arched bridge going to the fiddle yard. So now that is done I have had a day to run the stock and train up the operators on how we are going to run the layout. I will get some pics of the signal and some more locos running next week. The caravan is still on the to do list but that will be done in the next few weeks, but while I cant sort that out I have a princess royal class that (Mike Edge has designed and he sell the etches as a help to build a better loco) I am building at the moment. Here are some pics of the loco it will be 46200 when finished Mark Towers Edited January 18, 2018 by mark axlecounter

mark axlecounter
Cheers lads, I bought the kit when Emily was born that was 2 years ago and when I had to rest I started it then I will be posting on here the stages but the kit is good to do. I had to scratch build the boiler and firebox and buy a comet tender. Mark
mark axlecounter
I have been to the club today but initially not to run or work on the layout but it was to get the second hand axle ready to replace the failed one on the caravan, but I ended up sorting that out then did some work on a self weighing tender for a black 5. Here are the pics of the tender and Loco and also I said a few posts back that I put another signal on the layout distance and stop signal so here they are to. Any comments welcomed.
