dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. The Black 5 has arrived at the Upper Marshalling Yard (see part 1), and, after the Hymek takes its train from the station, an 08 arrives to take the rear portion of the train to the factory adjacent to the Pit Exchange Sidings. Initially Cab Riding in the 08 and then switching to the reverse view from the Guards Van for the journey. Meanwhile, the Black Five takes charge of another train to be returned to the Lower Marshalling Yard, this time the reverse view from the Guards Van next to the locomotive until reaching the tunnel and than forward view from the rear Brake Van for the remainder of the journey.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Once again, my favourite position, standing behind the driver looking over his shoulder at the road ahead. The journey is through a very busy junction, setting off from loco stabling road. After allowing the Hymek to take its train from the platform, we take its place to begin our service. After crossing the branch end junction, we travel down the long incline and past the south carriage sidings into the Main Station. The service terminates at the South East Station Bay Platform.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Another journey viewed from my favourite position, standing behind the driver looking over his shoulder at the road ahead. We set off from the South East Station Bay Platform, passing the 08 shunting in the Marshalling Yard and into Platform 2 of the Main Station. Onward through the tunnel into the East Station Branch Platform, before calling at Branch End and South West Stations and finally entering the tunnel en-route to the South Bay Platform of the Main Station to conclude the journey.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Another journey viewed from my favourite position, standing behind the driver looking over his shoulder at the road ahead. This time we wend our way through the traffic around the main Station before heading off to terminate the service at the Branch End. There is a visitor in this film which is completely 'out of area', one of my favourite models of a distinctive locomotive.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Another journey viewed from my favourite position, standing behind the driver looking over his shoulder at the road ahead. In this film the service starts at the Branch End and travels through Trenholme Junction passing through the Main Station and ultimately terminating at the North Bay platform. Emphasis here is on the distant shots, trains disappearing in the opening scenes and approaching movements whilst standing in the Main Station.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Class 20 Bo-Bo Diesel engine sets off from the Lower Marshalling Yard with a mixed collection of wagons and first takes a short stop in the Main Station for a crew change. After traversing the junction at the south end of the station the train pauses while a Black 5 on the shed road attaches some empty sand wagons to the rear of the train. After the short journey through the tunnel and we proceed through the South West station and run alongside an empty train of ex--NE 21 Ton Hoppers until we arrive at our destination, the Upper Marshalling Yard. Filmed from the rear Guards Vans. Edited May 8, 2016 by dougattrenholmebar

dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Continuing on from last weeks journey behind Class 20 Bo-Bo Diesel we take a cab ride from the Upper Marshalling Yard along to the Pit Exchange Sidings where the shunter removes our train into the bay platform where we couple up the train and head towards the tunnel. Once through the tunnel, we pass a Standard Class 4 Tank hauling Bogie Well Wagons and then run alongside the Pullman Train pulling out of the station before arriving at the Lower Marshalling Yard.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. After arriving at the Lower Marshalling Yard the Class 20 Bo-Bo Diesel leaves the train to the 08 which pulls it up the headshunt. We now couple the locomotive to our new train, several Lowmacs with crated loads destined for the Upper Marshalling Yard. After waiting for a train of mineral wagons to pass by we make our way through to the Station avoiding road. On the way we encounter traffic movements slowing our progress through the junction at this busy time of day. finally we progress to the tunnel and arrive at our destination just in time to see the local DMU hurry by. dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. Starting at the Upper Marshalling Yard, aboard the Class 20 Bo-Bo Diesel to start another Inter Yard transfer we watch the 08 Shunter push our train to the headshunt at the Branch End Station. After the 08 is released onto the loco spur we couple up and set off for the Lower Marshalling Yard. On the long bank we pass a 47 on a Fish Train in a bit of a hurry and then towards the Main Station, passing a DMU and a 4MT Tank on a mixed Goods train. Finally, arriving at the reception road of the Lower Marshalling Yard just in time to see D1 Scafell Pike leave with a train of Mark 1's.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. We are on board the 08 Shunter, looking out of the rear window, as it first removes the empty stock from Platform 2 at the Main Station and pushes them into the South Carriage Sidings. Looking out of the window gives a view which few people have ever seen. The 08 then couples onto an awaiting rake of ex-Gresley stock and moves them into Platform 2. Finally, Class 24 arrives at Platform 3 and departs for destinations unknown.
dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. We are on board the 08 Shunter, looking out of the rear window, as it first removes the empty stock from the Main Station and pushes them into the South Carriage Sidings. The 08 then positions itself on the station avoidance road, whilst a passenger train arrives and then departs. The Breakdown Train drifts by on the goods line adjacent to the North Carriage Sidings and a Tanker train passes through the main platforms. Finally, a DMU arrives with a van in tow and the 08 removes it to the station avoidance road. Edited July 4, 2016 by dougattrenholmebar

Andrew P
Hi Doug, Loved the Video again, TWO questions please, How long has the Foam been down, and how do you think it has fared in relation to disintegrating etc?
dougattrenholmebar
Hi Doug Super, as always. Nice to see the line at work from the cab of the 08. Jeff Thanks Jeff Andy, Most of the foam has been down for over 12 years (much is a lot older, going back to layouts from the 90's or earlier) I keep hearing parrot like comments about disintegration, but if you keep it out of direct sunlight it lasts for years. I only use Peco, the earlier Triang stuff disintegrated on the box before you got it home. Doug

dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. We are on board the 08 Shunter, looking out of the rear window. The DMU which brought the CCT and was removed by the 08 leaves the station and a steam hauled Parcels train arrives. The CCT van is attached the the back of the train before it carries on its way. The 08 then picks up a rake of coaches from from the West carriage Sidings and places them in the platform road at the same time as a Deltic arrives with a passenger train in an adjacent platform.

dougattrenholmebar
Model Railway based on North East England large scale junction in the 1960's. We are on board the 08 Shunter, looking out of the rear window. The 08 is entering the Station from the north end and heading toward the south carriage sidings to pick up an ex LNER full brake and passes the Deltic leaving on the adjacent track. Once the full brake is attached to the 08, the Shunter heads around the station avoidance road to attach it to the passenger train in the branch platform. A Black 5 on a cement train appears from the south and passes the 08 and heads for the north tunnel, followed by a DMU into the next platform. Finally, a Class 20 takes the passenger train away..........
