L49
Really impressive bit of baseboard construction. I'm looking forward to watching this one progress. I always think that it is good to decide on the final presentation before getting too much done on the trackwork or the scenery. One day I will actually listen to my own advice on that one!!!
RAY NORWOOD
UPDATE The sector plate box is connected to the scenic board by four clips, two on top one on ether side and on the on ether side and all the outside painted black. the back scene I have is a bit short in height so I have painted the top in blue. I have glued the C/L template down with spray mount to my plan. Just got to put the track down and the back scene on.
RAY NORWOOD
I have started laying the track and have miss calculated the amount of track I need, so have ordered more this morning. I will be starting making the point today.
RAY NORWOOD
While I am waiting for my track order I have put the back scene on it was a pig to put on I used wallpaper paste, miss stack I made was I put the paste on the back not on the paper and bubbles appeared on the back so I brought it in the house to dry out to see if all goes back, on the right hand side I have put some Mirror sticky back fablon trying to make the scenic go further on. As you can see the terrace houses and track work go further on. I think I may put some Mirror Fablon on the left side as well.
tender
That's very effective Ray.You might also consider putting something (bushes/trees etc) in front of the end panel to mask the reflection of the track. Another Ray.
RAY NORWOOD
Hi Ray There is a car park there and in that corner will be a low relief station building with a high iron railing in front of the mirror and a weigh bridge.

darren01
Hi Ray Having looked at the base board you have made really gives a good setting for the layout, Pulling you in to the scene. KTM
Of course, this is the general station and a night, to make it worse! I wonder if it's the earliest surviving video footage of Hounslow station? I certainly can't recall a photo booth on the platform back then. I'm looking forward to your next update, by the way.
