EddieB Posted July 4, 2022 Share Posted July 4, 2022 Here's 89001 having arrived in the morning at Kings Cross with its HST set, 29th November 1988. (A regular HST set, trailed by 43094 departs from the adjacent platform). I'd be interested to confirm operation from this time. As I understand/remember, 89001 worked a diagram single-handedly with the same stock and the combination did not operate in push-pull mode. Subsequent to this photo, the stock was removed and 89001 followed it to wait at the signal at the platform end - I think before disappearing into the Gasworks Tunnel, rather than stabling at the station. Guessing further, my inference is that stock and loco would have been taken to the depot at Bounds Green for a longish layover until the afternoon commuter services began. 3 Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
