Sam Moss
It is with great pleasure and a sense of mounting expectation that the GVLRA announces the prospect of a re-creation of a former Ashover Light Railway interlude.Over the weekend of 16th /17th August 2014, as part of the planned Midland Rail–ex event, Baldwin 4-6-0T No 778 (BLW 44656/17) is scheduled to run over GVLR metals coupled to a restored ALR Coach No. 4.The Baldwin’s visit has been arranged courtesy of its owners, the Greensands Museum Railway Trust and the Management of the Leighton Buzzard N.G.R., the loco’s home railway. Further details will, no doubt, be released via MR-B management and others in due course. www.gvlr.org.uk

RMweb Premium Andy Kirkham Posted January 30, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted January 30, 2014 Has somebody secretly resurrected the Glyn Valley light railway? Not only did I initially interpret the title as referring to the Glyn Valley - I also thought it was about the Lynton and Barnstaple Baldwin Lyn. sir douglas
something that has already been discussed somewhere on RMweb, mainly about the discomfort between the two seperate societies, one of them wants to rebuild the line in the original 2'4" but the other wants to rebuild it in 2'6" because the avaliability of locos and stock. the second of these "the Glyn Valley Tramway Trust" have got a loco, they've cleared some trackbed at Baddy's wood (and are still doing so) and have planning permission to start restoration of the line. http://thegvt.org/
