Spring is sprung - butterflies are out

yesterday we had a day out at the RSPB reserve at Pulbrough brooks lots of butterfly's about

Seeing as I'm in Essex, I thought it's only right I put up a picture of an Essex Skipper, seen at Rainham Marshes RSPB Nature Reserve yesterday. 

Well worth a visit if you're nearby.

Saw one flying through Gloucester a few years ago in January…. Just takes some milder weather to bring them out

Out on the drive layout building yesterday and was buzzed by a fast flying vanessid…. Peacock or red admiral, he didn’t stop to say hello.

 

And enjoying morning tea in the garden this morning with a male brimstone….
