43110andyb
Tonight’s tipple after a hard fought 8-a-side match - a 4-3 victory with 2 goals to my name and as the oldest outfield player ⚽️ (life in the old dog yet). Jack the Devil 4.5% from the Cullercoats brewery with the added Lifeboat donation bonus.

RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 18, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 18, 2023 A few bottles were opened at home yesterday. This one was out of date but was still fine. Witch by Tartarusbeers in Leeds. It's an 8% double Porter with a hint of ginger and was very quaffable.
Hobby
Just back from a week in Slovakia, drunk many of the usual brews but also found a couple of home brew/microbreweries, one in Poprad where the beer was nice but far too strong for a session and one in Bratislava where I ate too much at the restaurant they recommended we went to for Slovak food and so only managed a couple of small beers when we went back! 43110andyb
Now that the garden is a bearable temperature a Pale Ale is the order of the day! Samual Smiths organic Pale Ale - 5% and slightly chilled is going down nicely.
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted June 16, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 16, 2023 (edited) Yesterday evening we were debating whether to visit our local brewery but decided to stay home and drink some more beers that are past their BB dates. Red Rock in Devon has recently stopped Brewing. Luckily we have a few more of their bottles to get through. It's actually sold as a coffee stout and is most likely Badger's response to the coffee Guinness. Aldis also do there own version and I'm sure there are others. I've sampled all three and have a few bottles of Badgers currently "in stock". The Badger's is definitely best served chilled and in addition to a quite strong coffee taste and aroma ( third party verification as I no longer have a sense of smell ! ) it is quite sweet, as per the label. Personally, not as good as the Guinness which lacks the sweetness and to me, has a better finish. Rob
