Rivercider
31 549 at Peterborough, with a Civil Engineers Train, August 1992. A nice short train with a good variety of stock there, that would fit on lots of layouts. cheers

Alcanman
I found this pic very recently. A nice clean 31242 with what looks like a Regional Railways liveried inspection saloon, passes through an equally clean Grange over Sands station. Rivercider
On a topical theme for this time of the year how about a toffee apple? One of Stratfords 'toffee apple' 31/0s no. 31015 awaits its fate in the works yard at Doncaster it was one of the last of the sub-class to be withdrawn, 17/8/80 cheers

locoholic
I've put a few old Class 31 photos on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/127441156@N08/ I've tried putting them on RMWeb, but keep getting messages saying that kind of file is no good. Are there any instructions to enable me to put photos into posts like the folk above did? Thanks Andrew
RMweb Gold DaveF Posted November 3, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 3, 2014 I've put a few old Class 31 photos on Flickr at https://www.flickr.com/photos/127441156@N08/ I've tried putting them on RMWeb, but keep getting messages saying that kind of file is no good. Are there any instructions to enable me to put photos into posts like the folk above did? Thanks Andrew Andrew, To post images here they need to be in JPEG format and less than 1Mb file size. If you look at the top of the RMWeb page an image editor is available to change your images to the right format and file size if you need to. Then use the reply with attachments button. Rivercider
Here are three more shots from the 1980s in blue Imminghams 'skinhead' 31111 is stabled at Frodingham 25/6/82 At Weston-super-Mare it is unusual for snow to settle, and even rarer for it to last overnight, 31118, with steam heating boiler in use, waits at Weston with a Bristol service 11/1/82 And finally a pair at York Yard North, 31178 and 31301 roll through heading north with what I think are empty BAA coil wagons , 10/6/83 cheers Edited November 3, 2014 by Rivercider
Fat Controller
Kevin, They are BAA coil carriers; at a guess, I'd say it was an additional Corby- Lackenby empty coils- the return working of the 'Tubeliner'.
jonny777
Here are three more shots from the 1980s in blue scan0027a.jpg Imminghams 'skinhead' 31111 is stabled at Frodingham 25/6/82 scan0062a.jpg At Weston-super-Mare it is unusual for snow to settle, and even rarer for it to last overnight, 31118, with steam heating generator in use, waits at Weston with a Bristol service 11/1/82 scan0098a.jpg And finally a pair at York Yard North, 31178 and 31301 roll through heading north with what I think are empty BAA coil wagons , 10/6/83 cheers That photo of Weston station in the snow brings back a lot of memories. Early Jan 1982 was a well known snow event around the Bristol Channel/Severn Estuary coast, both over S Wales and the West Country. I was on the S Wales coast at the time, and most places were cut off for some days (weeks in the case of tiny rural villages served by hilly roads. I can't give you a 31 photo, or a even a railway one - because I had to try and walk to/from work - but this is what some of the drifts looked like.
