David C
Funnily enough, I saw Tower Pier today at Railex (along with the other urban terminii there, Earls Court and Bradfield Gloucester Square - and Bath Green Park!). I was impressed with Tower Pier - it certainly generated a few ideas in my brain cells! I am familiar with Cyril Freezer's Minories, although I must confess I have never been very enamoured with it - the reverse curves at the station throat formed by the crossovers always struck me as rather unrealistic. However, its going to be some time before I start work on a second layout. I want to extend my current effort, an ex GWR BLT, first. Looking forward to seeing progress on Aldersgate. George Hudson
Something else on drawing board........... .......amazing, I have invented cut and paste I find this easier than trying to reproduce the same feature multiple times. One day I will learn to do it on Adobe or similar!

trisonic
Colchester is the land of the living? Just kidding. Good work as usual, Andrew. You ought to meet up with “Baby Deltic” of Sumatra Road - he’s based in Colchester (or thereabouts). Best, Pete.
Baby Deltic
I am indeed of Colchester born and bred, Pete.
L49
I am indeed of Colchester born and bred, Pete. What wonderful things our dear town has to be thankful for... Ancient Roman Capital, Beautiful Norman Castle, Magnificent Victorian Water Tower and birthplace of BD (and L49 for that matter!) I knew there was a reason this place was famous!!! trisonic
Having lived in Essex since the age of 5 (apart from the USA) I was amazed to realize today that Chelmsford and not Colchester was the “County Town”. D’oh this is brain-twisting news. Of course I knew Shenfield wasn’t.......... Best, Pete.
George Hudson
yes, Chelmsford has a cathedral, unfortunately it shrank in the wash.
George Hudson
some progress on the brickwork, this is all done by traditional method: I must upgrade to adobe
Hayfield2
George Yet again a stunning piece of work. Any further progress on the track yet?
George Hudson
I'd love to say there is but no progress at all. Perhaps when everyone (including Mrs GH) goes back to uni/school I will get some headroom to build the rest of the boards. 30 mins per day on the buildings has been my lot recently! Thanks to everyone for the encouragement. Andrew
George Hudson
here's a sneak at my old school methods! God bless scale scenes and photocopiers.
trisonic
yes, Chelmsford has a cathedral, unfortunately it shrank in the wash. So does Brentwood - but I guess it leans the wrong way........ Best, Pete.
Hayfield2
Wish I could do that much in 30 mins a day, you must be from the Coachmans school of speed modelling Edited August 17, 2014 by Hayfield2

Hayfield2
I know what you mean by having to leave one part to get on with something else, and lets face it, it's so much easier and more satisfying doing what you like most. I just am gobsmacked how you transform a piece of printed brick paper with lines on into a splendid 3D building, let alone an inspiring townscape. I think we all enjoy seeing photos of how the detail is built up, and must be inspiring others to follow your lead

Baby Deltic
Also really strange roundabouts within roundabouts! They're fairly easy to negotiate in a roundabout sort of way.
