Resin printer slicer scaling problem.
JimFin replied to Chris GH's topic in 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CAD & CNC
Should not need to do that, just select the correct printer from the menu and they will be set for you. -
Hope this link works, put together by one of the team. https://video.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t42.1790-2/10000000_419041330695631_5302574874013411607_n.mp4?_nc_cat=109&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=55d0d3&efg=eyJ2ZW5jb2RlX3RhZyI6InN2ZV9zZCJ9&_nc_ohc=1bgNXdpHnsMAX9M9tN-&tn=_2-wu9i2doOpTWUy&_nc_ht=scontent.flba3-2.fna&oh=00_AfB47mFhdTcJqbu7PUsqpkm4MQZISCQftYRGBRBfdrkwQw&oe=65E1A536

Wheels too wide for bogies - What to do?
JimFin replied to BrakeCoach's topic in 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CAD & CNC
There is another aspect you need to factor in and that is the overall length of the axle and the shape of the tip. You may need to provide enough width to the frame to accommodate a top hat bearing. Jut as an aside, have you done a financial sense check on this? I stopped printing run of the mill bogie when I worked out that the cost of buying wheel set, bearings and coupling was greater than just buying the off the shelf complete bogie.. -

Sound Project Download from Wickness Models
JimFin replied to Stuart G's topic in DCC Help & Questions
If not resolved, ask Wickness models what format the attached file was in. Some ISP's will block e-mails with attachments that are in a format that they deem suspicious. They may or may not tell you what they have done. If that is the case, you may need to contact your ISP and ask them to unblock that format - or ask Wickness to re-send in a different formt e.g. a zip file. -
ESU Decoder Test Board doing odd things when programming CVs
JimFin replied to Adrian Olsen's topic in DCC Help & Questions
Maybe something wrong with the power in when using the programming connection - only one of the power LEDs is lit. -
That station looks a tad familiar! 😉 Hope it goes well.

Too cold in the workshop to progress some printing projects so I have continued other tasks. Got the chemical works lighting sorted - happy with that having played with resistors. As its quite fragile, I have arranged it to be removable for the baseboard and wired the lighting to to 2 micro magnets. On the baseboard the feeds are wire loops and when you put the plant down the magnets pick up the feeds and power it up. Next turned to the level crossing behind the station. Happy with progress, some fine tuning to do and then a paint job. Frame and mechanism is fabricated brass, operated by a servo under the baseboard, barrier is plasticard. Too much going on over the past month to do much modelling but - station and timber area developed, new 3d printed logging truck added and guests for the wedding added as Santa brought a population explosion! The main station buildings do follow the Zone Industrial rather than Heidiland style -

ABS-like water wash resin
JimFin replied to chuffinghell's topic in 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CAD & CNC
Have you considered blending them say 80% 20%? I use Anycubic Eco 80% and 20% Siraya Tenaciuos to overcome the brittle factor. -
Cricut maker 3 Capabilities.
JimFin replied to piranha240's topic in 3D Printing, Laser Cutting, CAD & CNC
Yes it would, I can with the original Maker. Software is easy enough and for what you want has a basic shape of a rectangle with rounded corners or you can create the exact shape you want quite easily or import from other deign sources. You can down load and play about with it free from their site. To successfully cut that, you would need the knife blade accessory. Does need a mid range or better laptop or MAC with 8Gb of RAM to run smoothly. Despite being promoted as a hobby tool, it remains a CAD program with integrated cutting machine controls.- 1 reply
