Who - me????

Sorry we didn't have any at Redditch Mike but If we don't take some comestibles with us to The Gower they will make us eat laverbread!

Are you over for Warley perchance?

Phil

Warley, for all it's shortcomings, was a possibility, but, due to my last unscheduled 14 day visitation, things have got a tad more complicated, what with christmas heaving in to view!

Mike.

Or they could make you eat some of that rarebit stuff!

So what's going to happen to the layout immediately after this weekend Phil? Is it, like the GWR Dukedogs, going to be stored with the possibility of having another hurrah? :D

Ah yes Mike a visit like the last one can throw plans out for a good while. Hope things settle down before too long....and shortbread will materialise eventually, fear not!

As for a last hurrah Liam....have already turned down invites next year, time to move on!

An excellent weekend in Swansea

Show flew by which means it must have been good. Layout had a bit if damage in van on way down and had to do some track repairs including relaying one length of the up main line under the rail over bridge - many thanks to Hereford models for coming to the rescue with a length of track.....

Peter and Digby were excellent crew - many thanks gentlemen - and Smokey Joe was conspicuous by his absence , he was usurped by Digby's King John which certainly drew admiring comments from the attendees.

We had some very good interactions at several levels - much interest as always in our tail lamps, and ECoS - and also in how DCC works in general. To our benefit were discussions with railwaymen - a retired guard from Carmarthen and a driver from Canton, and of course it was good to put faces to RMWebber names - Brian R and Swindon 123 in particular are old friends on here. Abbotswood tickets were also issued to the younger generation....and SWMBO's millionaire's shortbread went down a storm as always. Even the signalling stayed repaired!

There will be a video to follow - watch this space. Brynglas tunnels on the M4 were closed yesterday but Digby's Newport knowledge avoided major issues - we were home and unloaded by 10 last night.

Thanks again to the Swansea club for the very kind invite and also to Ted for the accommodation - a very cosy cottage in Mumbles, although we were too tired to enjoy it too much!

Looking forward to the rebuild developing Phil! But do all those Warships have somewhere to run round in the meantime?

Only on my kato test track Liam. Cant rule out guest appearances on other layouts though...

So going to start a new thread for the rebuild....

First of all Phil, a big thanks for supplying some background noises for Blowers Green at the Swansea Exhibition. It seemed that whenever we ran a Class 20, there was always something whistling away on Abbotswood for effect. Also thank you for the food donations in the form of SWMBO's millionaire's shortbread. It was very nice. I did manage to get a couple of pics of Abbotswood on its final outing as a memento. I post them below for your viewing. best of luck with version 2. May it be a quick and smooth gestation. I will look forward to seeing it on the circuit.

Smashing photos Paul - thanks for sharing!

Hope the EE sounds not too intrusive!

It was great once again to have excellent neighbours at a show - but then that's model railways for you!

And Blowers Green is stunning....

Gestation has started on another thread...http://www.rmweb.co....orton-junctions , and also discussions with Elite baseboards...

Cheers

It was quite a while ago now, but for about 10 seconds in this video there is footage of the layout and Phil, Neil (Downendian) and myself at Toddington prepping it ready for the first visitors.

Ah no - that noisy steelworks layout with the air raid siren wasn't there!

But...forget Wales, we have gone global.

Youtube viewing figures normally trundle along consistently at 2-300 per day with a spike when we upload a new video

So last few days figures...

13th Oct 334

14th 481

15th 844, hardly Spartan!

16th 1752

17th 3531

18th 6708

Never seen figures like that before!

It appears from the analytics that India is responsible for the growth. So if any one from there happens along on to this forum - welcome, and thank you for your support

Kind regards

Phil
