Excellent video as ever, highlight for me was the "magic mineral" behind the EE type 1's!

One complaint though, no shots of the millionaires shortbread.

Mike.

Knew you would spot that Mike! You can see why the railways preferred trailing points....

And thought the video AND millionaires shortbread might cause a Spanish overload....

How did the wedding go?

It was a sad wedding, even the cake was in tiers!

Nothing like a nighttime spotting session - did one at Crewe a few years ago, just wish Celtic hadn't been on their way to play Juventus that particular night, and the Aston Villa v Manchester City match wasn't that night either . . .

How about next time you watch the Night Mail, the original 1936 one? :D

Superb set of videos, Phil, I've really enjoyed watching them. The Cartics do look good with the Ford vans, and the appearance of 7612 struck a cord as I remember this batch of locos being transferred from Scotland to the Midlands - 7610 I think it was got stuck at Preston for a few days to the delight of us local spotters!

When I was employed, one facet of my job was to ask questions such as "you are sure about this aren't you?", and the same thought occurred to me about the rebuild after watching the films.

Thanks John - and many thanks for your support and kind comments

I think I know why you are asking that question but think about....

A completely separate Worcester - Oxford loop with Warship hauled class 1s

A pair of 37s (I reckon with Biff's drivelock sound files) taking the Abbotswood to Norton chord and struggling with mega thrash....

A sequence of 3 southbound trains through Abbotswood - 1 off the main, 1 from Worcester and 1 out of the loop

Sufficient fiddle yard capacity to hold most of the trains we need to run at the same time

And you might start to see the limitations of the current layout and the drivers for rebuild.

Its a very valid question though....

Our enthusiasm for the first layout got us to where we are now .... and I hope with the encouragement of the many friends we have made en route to completion of Mark 2, with all we have learnt to help us along.

An excellent answer Phil, and I'm sure we'll all be delighted to see the new layout!

Having seen the storage loops at the back of the present layout, and the range of stock in the films I can see why this alone would be a case for some expansion.

All good wishes for what promises to be a busy winter!

John.

And that's why EM is a no go!

Hee hee sorry Mike

The concept is similar to the drawing above but as that was the extension on the existing layout curves will be eased etc

Will get a drawing up eventually

But theres a couple of video shorts to sort first....
