He chipped one and used the original load. Hiya. I haven't....but then again I bet he wasn't silly enough to glue the chip in, and then realise the load doesn't fit...... Waveydavey
Do you have a part number for these as I've had a look on Howes site and can't locate them. Cheers Eddie Just checked and they are not now listed on the Howes site. Guess they must have sold out. I think the spares are done in small batches and often get sold out so you have to be on the ball and order them while you can. After a little tot up I reckon more than half of my recent model railway spend is on Heljan spares sprues. Yes, the 26 doors were in 7mm.
RBE
Some nice stuff there Lee. Things just get better and better. I have to admire your resolve. I enjoy doing the odd repaint but the volume you churn out would make my days a real busmans holiday. Hats off to you for that alone despite the quality of the finished articles. I must admit, sometimes the workload can at times be a bit frightening, but the advantage of being ones own boss is the joy of being able to lock the door and have a break! It's just the same as modelling as a hobby really, sometimes the scale of the task can be a bit overpowering and causes the mojo to be lost. As usual all I need is a bit of inspiration from whatever...this weeks was grubbying up those wonderful parcels vans. I still love doing this as much as the first day I decided to do it full time. Thankfully!

Jack374
These Vi-Trains duffs scrub up quite well. They do indeed and you've done a great job Lee. The buffers are awful though, but by glueing them in place and turning the heads in a mini drill the face is improved no end. I assume it is for a customer however, so this may not be an option, but if you are doing one for yourself it is certainly worth it. Great work as usual! Jack. blueeighties
I have always rated the Hornby 60 very highly. Closer inspection whilst working on these 2 has cemented that fact. Everything about this loco is perfevt, and they run as good as they look. 60050 in TTG was done for a customer, he decided not to go for it so it's 'accidentaly' ended up in my care Slightly out of era for me, but it does look rather nice. 60033 is even further out of my time period and I couldn't justify it, drop me a line if it's of interest to you. It's not a respray, Hornby standard body, but the chassis has been detailed and weathered, and as you can see form the pics, modified electrically. Originally a sound chassis, why I don't know, but Hornby wire their sound chassis light modules so that they wont work with a standard dcc chip without the Hornby pcb...a nightmare when chassis swaps need to be done. So, this board allows the lights to function with a normal decoder, and also has the added bonus of switching between normal and daytime running lights using the f1 function button. 024 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 027 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 031 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 039 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 042 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 045 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 010 by rothburyuk, on Flickr for sale £125 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 016 by rothburyuk, on Flickr 019 by rothburyuk, on Flickr
Grimleygrid
Oh yes indeed Mr Lee, I can see exactly why that lovely Brush Beast has remained in your possession! A Metals sector 60, great job. They look great in that livery....... I totally agree, it is a fantastic model, thanks Hornby! Problem is that they are like Pringles, once you pop you can't stop! Would love to model all 100!
