  1. So the layouts, reference books, DVD’s etc weren’t worth it too? 🤫
  2. Excellent show! Busy but not packed, pleasant temperature and loads of good layouts. A fitting tribute to Nigel Mann and huge thanks to Heather who I understand pulled it all together. The upstairs seating above was a great place to eat lunch and watch trains below. Loads of trade and as good a mix of books, tools, electrics, rtr and secondhand as I’ve seen. Chatted to a couple of traders and they said it was busy for them. Might need some taller legs here chaps ;) Steadfast, Jo greeting with a smile at the entrance :) This caught my eye, but I think they forgot something before weathering it! 😉
  3. The bridge looks superb and more to the point should be resistant to knocks far more than a plastic one of any internal design!
  4. Well it’s been a while . . . but I’m now testing some finishes . .
  5. Oh p** it’s a work weekend once more and the daft policy of not confirming Sundays off until the Thursday before means impossible to plan for!
  6. Ok so a couple of my modular layouts are one layout that can be arranged in different ways depending on the hall but it’s still one layout to one theme. I do group modular layouts too but the two personal layouts use the same principal so the standard for inter connectivity has nothing to do with precluding them. At the end of the day whichever arrangement they are assembled in the line length, trains and physical area are identical!
  7. https://prazsky.denik.cz/nehody/praha-vykolejeni-vlaku-zastaveni-provozu.html Emergency services went to the passenger train accident that took place near the village of Klínec in Prague - west. The train started on its own and derailed in an inaccessible place. Traffic on the track is at a standstill. The accident happened on Thursday, May 2 before 2:00 p.m. on railway line 210 between the municipalities of Měchenice and Čisovice. Police spokeswoman Michaela Richterová told Deník that the train probably started on its own. There was neither the driver nor any passengers in it at the time. According to the spokesperson, all three wagons ended up off the track. According to information, he was traveling at a speed of more than 100 km/h before the derailment. According to Martin Kavka, the spokesman for the firefighters of the Railway Administration, the accident stopped traffic on the track. The rescue service also went to the scene as a precaution. According to the server zDopravy.cz, the train set off without a driver already at the Čisovice station, then passed the departure signal and the switch and traveled a total of four kilometers on the track before derailing. During this, she passed four railway crossings secured only by a warning cross without barriers. České dráhy also commented on the event: "At the Čisovice railway station, an empty motor unit 814 ran towards Skochovice. There were no passengers or staff members on the train at the time of the emergency. The train was stopped and locked at the time." And they added that: "There were no injuries in the accident and no one was endangered in the incident, as all safety rules immediately worked and traffic on the track was immediately interrupted even before the Region's unit derailed at approximately km 24.6 in the Bojovského potok valley. Railway inspectors will now investigate the reasons for the unit's unintended derailment. The driver was taken out of service." The circumstances of the traffic accident and why the train started are also being investigated by the police.
  8. Useful option if you could do the lower one with the N gauge NEM pocket to match the slate wagons too? The ideas in the hook idea I have would be being able to put a tiny bit of iron wire in the top so a magnetic wand could be used to lift them up.
  9. As the couplings supplied are a bit ‘mainline’ for quarry use I’m thinking of a couple of possible solutions. One ignoring the wagons N gauge pocket and screwing on an Accurascale OO Nem coupler
  10. I think it was Paul M commented that? Seems odd they held back especially when similar hold vs continue decisions led to their Fairlie overtaking the Kato one to market. Whatever the reasons I’m glad it eventually saw the light of day as this has similar potential to the On30 Porter in bring a springboard for other bashed & modified models. Now if Dan at Fourdees gets his hands on one and does the same in 7mm as he’s done in 4mm we are in for a treat!
  11. Right next! 😉 I’m going to add Barnstaple(ish). If I just add it to the current U shape it’s a bit tight to get the backscene in and the operators either side. So if I add a short board in I could add a short version of Lancey Brook or similar to give some height variation and create more space.
  12. The roller is mostly green in the film 😉 I just chopped the canopy off the Oxford roller, painted the wheel treads grey and the flywheel black
  13. No the motors can’t be linked to multiple boards. You’d need a separate system of route setting. If you’re doing DCC systems have macros or app software to do that. Otherwise you’d need a manual system to trigger different switches at the same time and that’s going to be a custom build.
