  1. two packages from Hattons today . Two cobalt point motors which I want to try out on the layout in place of the SEEP point motors. I'm having an issue with the SEEPS, where I'm having to throw the switch for each point at the start of an operating session countless times before they will respond, I've tried spraying them with WD40 to keep them lubricated but this seems to have made them worse. I'm hoping trialing these Cobalts will make the points more reliable. The signal is second hand, hence the damage, but this will be repaired and then installed on the elevated section nearest the window giving access to the goods line. package from Hattons by Simon Barnes, on Flickr Three aspect signal with feather and subsidiary signal by Simon Barnes, on Flickr
  2. I quite like the old DPU units and I've got two of them now so have too like them . The weathering is from Railmatch rattle cans (underframe dirt and roof dirt) with some dry brushed Humbrol light tan to pick out the detail. As for the signals, I'm a traditionalist and I've got them working of rotary switches the only problem is I'm running out of room on my panel and I'm going to have to have a rethink

  5. Very nice purchase Andy, looking forward to seeing your pictures
  6. I do know he's short on 8 pin chips, how do I know? as I blew my class 50 chip trying to add another speaker and messed up with my soldering iron......(lesson learnt), I contacted Jamie and tried to order another one but he informed me he's short of chips. He works full time, so he may be behind on his orders, bear with him as his sounds are great. I'll see if I can raise this with him for you, 3 weeks is longer than you would expect. Simon
  7. Afternoon Andy, i bought them off him directly as I'm a friend of his on FB, message him on here and see which he prefers.
  8. sadly the other signals on the layout got damaged by cats leaning/sleeping on them and are now only dummies or are completely missing. Seeing how good this one looks and how clever I felt after wiring it up, I'll be looking at reviewing the signals on the layout and maybe renewing them. I've made a video of the signal in action by the way.
  9. Well after some critical comments from my Network Rail friend, the Pendeford S&T gang have wired up their first signal. It's a crucial signal as it protects the junction outside the PSB ,so it need doing after 4 years IMG_3252 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr IMG_3251 by Simon Barnes, on Flickr

  11. Well the latest Pendeford Yard today is here, it's was meant to be ready for January but due to the fact I was filming in the evenings, I had to fit the time round my shifts, which has led to this late arrival. Anyway sit back and enjoy, Pendeford Yard Today "After Dark" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaSGIoLCtMk
  12. missing the 37's Andi, these new locos are like Marmite
  13. Please do provide wheels, those that don't want them, just sell the surplus packs on theifbay.....simples. As others have said, having the kit, wheels and bearing all together like Parkside did was a real blessing. Simon
  14. Looking good Ian, the detail you've added to the station forecourt area alone is amazing. Simon
