  1. Thanks Chris - but as with last year, we can't attend - I have been very ill, and am still recovering.  Also, living in Ludlow does make it a lot more difficult than just down the road.  However, we both hope the day will go well and that it raises a lot of oney for that much deserving organization.

Regards to you and your dad

it reminds me of days standing on the foot bridges of Princess Street Gardens and trying to look through tunnel into Waverley to see if there was any movement and if we weren't close enough to the foot bridges when we heard a train,  we would run through the trees to stand at the fence between two foot bridges.

    Hi Neill,

Another WW fan here with a rather similar memory - I can't quite recall how I got into following the layout, but I have now since the first postsand on those days, it was actually possible to view new content at leisure, unlike today.  It really reflects the post steam era remarkably well, and many people whom I have shown it to on here can't believe it's a model.

My memory of Waverly West is of many years before yours - similar  venues - usually just parked ourselves behind the bushes East of Mound tunnel, with a bottle of irn bru (and no real regard to the need for a toilet, I might add) and the motive power was more A4, A3, A1,  B1 and various pre grouping locos on pilot - and when the DMU from Glasgow came it, it got a hearty boo.
