  1. The final CADs look amazing Dave! Hope they can put in to production now as myself and others are eagerly awaiting these beasts and having a rake behind 2x 37's will be awesome! There my favourite wagon and i'm sure they will sell fast also! Cheers.
  2. Great pics, love the engineers train too nice ballast loads fitted
  3. Great layout and good to see 80's 90's modelling too
  4. Love the pics in primer chief, can't wait to build some and add some nice white metal parts to finish the PAB's of nicely. I'll get a custom decal pack made up for these hoppers so if anyone is buying any of Jon then i'll post the link here so you can then decal them up for that extra custom finish
  5. Wow great update and very informative guide / instructions! Really like how they have turned out fela, i would definately like atleast one sheet if thats ok? I've had a go at 1 and learnt some new methods in buying those tools you mentioned so thankyou very much for continuing with this post, i'm even now soldering white metal kits together which are a bit scruffy but i'm learning and there only genesis kits so a good wagon to learn how to on. Cheers again Rich.
  6. Hi Mike, i basically just sent a letter a few years back asking if he was still trading and whats available if so? John then rang me to discuss what bits i'd asked about and also to fill me on whats available, he then sent out 4mm & 7mm brochures for both decals & white metal parts which he does still sell. I have actually spoke to John the other night and he can send out what he has there ready to go but hes not currently doing any casting or other bits for a while as hes having on going building work done so of course thats geting in the way of doing any bits for now! Last time i sat with John @ DEMU he had quite a lot of castings at the show and a good range of decals too so you may be ok for the Sheerness PXA / POA bits you need but some other types of bogies were not available, anyway heres his email & address to write to if you let him know what your after i'm sure he'll get back to with a yes or no JOHN TALBOT 10 ST. DUNSTANS CLOSE BATTENHALL WORCESTER WR5 2AJ Email..... john@jaatalbot.plus.com Cheers.
  7. J.T was still trading earlier this year thou i've not ordered anything for months now so unsure if he still is? He only does white metal bogies, detailing parts and decals now so if its any of those you need then write to him again and see if he gets back in touch or rings you?
  8. Evening gents, on the 31's they were there from the late 80's onwards used as shunters, bankers & loco's up front in blue, dutch, railfreight etc..... I have pics somewere which need scanning on like but heres a couple for now showing them at the said place Class 31 31327-31538 Peak Forest 3/3/94 https://www.flickr.com/photos/35663521@N04/3328795619/sizes/l 31 160 and 31 323 on the usual "Ped" ploughing duties! Before 31's it was 20's https://www.flickr.com/photos/36034969@N08/8316239254/sizes/l https://www.flickr.com/photos/7541633@N08/5990418703/sizes/l 31327 & 31282 at Northenden working 7H53 from Oakliegh yard to Tunstead https://www.flickr.com/photos/cheshielines/7001892438/sizes/l Hope that helps and i will scan some of mine soon too. Cheers.
  9. Cheers Grimley they were and still are my favourite class of loco, the sound could be heard for 10 minutes sometimes before you could even see them slogging away on hoppers very happy days the 31/4's and none ETH examples too thou they always turned up! I remember 31327 looking very smart with a Departmental Grey Ped on the Hoppers once that was a nice surprise thou never got bored of seeing red stripe Tractors on anything up there either. Thanks Rich
  10. Here you go Cav, just had a look through my friends pics, 37259 early 88 in t,t,g https://www.flickr.com/photos/terry47401/12203231883/in/photolist-jAM6dc-jAM5Vi-jDruBj-jAmKFH-d26xDd-cTwdBL-cT11of-dV8Tab-9Goefy-dV3iit
  11. Hello Peter and thankyou squire thats much appreciated 37259 oh my yes what a beast i've actually fotted her @ Buxton this year which was sureal barring the fact she was on yellow coaches doh! Still nice thou. And yes 37 heaven up Buxton a nice mixed rake is most definately needed but with 20's 31's & 47's aswell of course if modelling late 80's hell uou could push the boat out and have 25059 sat there out of service as she was the last Rat to leave and the very last 25 to be withdrawn, BX men even tried hiding her in the back of the TMD but got a phone call of Crewew saying can we have our withdrawn 25 back now please! lol Here you go this might tempt you Cav? 37259 be it in 4mm but look at this Buxton beast with sound + the wagons!! Not drooling much here!
  12. Yes actually looking at the pic its taken from the fields side not the road side which leads up to Dowlow so yes that fot is still on but of course the only thing your gona get up there now is a db 60 or 66 and i don't like really going out of my way for a 60 and definately don't for a shed lol
  13. Hi Cav, apologies i've not been on for a few days many thanks on the pics and yes i added 688 in the earlier guise for you with black grills and big numbers as of course the later version of her was 90's onwards. On the blue 37's yes i have a few shots here of blue examples still turning up in the late 80's and early 90's which was a bit rare but i have vids with them banking ici hoppers and also double heading with BX 37/5's too, also of note there were a few Railfreight plain grey 37/7's & 5's working of BX for a short while before they finally headed of to Canton! 37689 been one that sticks in my mind as they literally only had her there straight out of the box from Crewe Works a few days before they smashed her nose up and of course then she was back to Crewe again to be fixed, i don't think they let her go back to Buxton after that! Thou it wasn't the only time as i could go on all day about how many incidents happened to there loco's one more is when they banged a pair of Buxton 37/5's straight in to another pair bending the noses on all 4 machines! I can reel of numbers for you of none BX 37's that did appear if you fancy modelling any of those? Also ex TE Choppers which came over and solidly worked the ICI Hoppers for a while too which was nice. So then yes that picture didn't upload as it was too big but here it is again with a few others which may be of interest including the very common black painted headcode boxs which most at one stage or another seem to of had applied and i loved that feature Oh and a link here http://www.phantasrail.co.uk/rh_class_37.htm she may be a little past your era but what a beast to see double heading on PHV ICI's back then. Thanks.
  14. Hi there the beautiful viaduct yes thats Dukes Drive Viaduct near Buxton on the Dowlow line, unfortunately now the trees and bushes are huge here so this photograph is not on anymore! Thou there may be a chance from the other side still or a closer more looking up view perhaps? Cheers:)
  15. No worries chief, heres a couple of 37's and some other bits from up that way, not all my pics as i've been given loads off friends which i scanned on i've tried to only search through late 80's loco's and this is what i've come up with so hope these are of use and also show a nice mix of wagons too. Also a shot showing an over view of Dowlow / Briggs this is a section i really like and not many tend to take pics up here! But thou its a 66 in the shot its great for modelling potential and geting the scenics bob on Cheers.
  16. Hi Cav, loving this thread mate my favourite area and of course the stone trains with 37's wil always be my favourite freight trains i'm up that way quite often so if you need any pics or anything from the P.F area just ask as i have tons of fots of Buxton based traction from the 80's onwards
  17. Great pics Matt hopefully not to many months wait till we can get our Hoppers ordered and built Cool on the ASW decals i was gona say Precision Decals but he is very busy and can only supply the data panels at present not the logo's! Heres some shots from the weekend at Warrington Show of your excellent Peak Forest based layout too Thanks Rich
  18. Was great to finally meet you today Matt, thou you are norty for forgetting the ici hopper lol all good thou those black beasts you did bring looked great and your 1st outing of your layout to all good and was good fun to watch, you'll have to put a 37 on next time so i can fot a tractor on freight Cheers.
  19. Great stuff really i can't wait now! Will be in tomorrow to see you as didn't have time today with having to finish a pile of work
  20. The solebar is a massive give away i'm surprised no one has said what it is yet? Still i'm not saying but hope these beautys are available for sale soon kiddo
  21. Morning buddy, well i'm impressed! Well chuffed you've now done the PXA Chassis as wanting a rake of these also the "POWELL DUFFRYN" we are really wanting that massive beefy beast and would be amazing if you did decide to do the chassis and ends in 3D then we could always make some kind of hood for it to fill the middle in. Many thanks for the update anyway and also i'm keeping my fingers crossed on a smaller vac braked hopper wagon that you said you may look at doing aswell
  22. Looking great Jon, thou please don't abandon this project! I'm not up to were you are as i've had a lot of stuff get in the way the last few weeks + i'm working every hour god sends but i'm hoping to crack on with this shortly again Cheers
  23. Hi Jon ok thankyou i'll do that clean the piece's up then give you a heads up
