  1. Got mine yesterday well happy with them, going to change the yellow/black R/F metals one to red ends thou and re-number it never saw it in action so not keeping it yellow if anything it will make the rake of BAA's look weird with a yellow one in there! I've also removed all the cradles and gona have my wagons eye to the sky with maybe genesis coils for extra weight two and not forgetting that thin white line that went down each side of these wagons on the body edges at the top think it was cardiff which had them like this but i'll have to check 1st and see which had this white dotted line?
  2. That last building shot looks real chap! Well done looking good as always hows those 37's coming along you were re-numbering for the layout?
  3. Yes i two remember seeing these types of DMU when going round the curve on my hols to Newquay so would be good to have one or two stabled on shed.
  4. Hi Clive, it seas error 404 page not found when you click on your link chap?
  5. Hi Dave, wheither its a good thing or a bad thing i curtainly want a rake rtr and look forward to geting some, as nowadays i just don't have the time to be building up kits like i used to so its another valuable wagon to add to my stock. Maybe the kit firms could concert on other rare wagons never modelled like the mostyn acid tanks there superb and still not available very surprised by this as they would sell very well i'm sure! Much like the buxton lime ICI hopper it should of been made back in the 90's rtr but nope there was the caster high peak kit in the 80's and barring that not a lot else unless modelling o or n gauge and they were etched brass mainly so not an option to build for many of us, thou there is talk of them been made rtr but will it ever happen? Hmmmm Thanks, Rick.
  6. Yes true but luckilly theres gaugemaster model strip around 6 quid a tub an it removes all printed on details thou don't get it near the cant line or that will go bye bye two! I use this regularly thou i'd advise not leaving it to work its magic say over an hour and half as after that the paste can fade the area you've brushed it on to so be careful if doing it and i wouldn,t recommend the jels as they burn the paint of the model stay well clear of them!
  7. Hornby dcc on board 56032 rtr in metals is the one to use for 013 no need for a re-spray then and no the yellow 37 was suppost to go to nr but it never happened as far as i know? Atleast its painted up in something thou unlike the rusted messy 37255 residing there! You'd think they'd do something about that but nope obviously there not wanting to sort her out and give her a lick of paint to stop her rusting up completely!
  8. Ah right yes i forgot she would of been in trainload coal then! So hornbys 56032 metals model re-worked would saffice then? Correct windows and grills etc.... so seems she had quite an outing dowen there i'm pleased in a way it stayed as 37 motive power on the clays as they were renown down there for these workings! Also 56's did start taking over 37 workings not long after the early 90's so the tractors did well to keep the clay moving till those dreaded sheds arrived here! I remember in rail mag that 56044 went to cornwall did she also visit exeter rail fair in transrail with a similarly adorned 37412 and a 60 aswell as maybe 31105 all in the big T house colours? Not watched the video recently but i'm sure its 56032 which was pulling scrap in cornwall filling in for an un available cardiff canton 37/7 think she had red plates then two thou it could of been 56054 either way the grid had a big nameplate.
  9. There you go a standard Hornby rtr model no need to re-number one thou there going for a lot on ebay so expect to pay near enough a ton for a second hand 013! Then its just a case of fading it & weathering it up.
  10. Yes theres the modellers licence and i'm sure it would get fellow watchers at exhibitions excited to see a grid or tug on the round house! i can't find a pic but i'm sure 60034 Carnedd Llewyn also had railfreight general sectors applied for the 1990 calendar aswell those been the same applied to 50149 never got that calendar think rail express re-offered for sale a few years back but forgot to order one! also a 56 worked to cornwall on scrap in the early 90's (clocked it on a vid) and i'm sure others did two so a nice grubby cardiff metals sector grid wouldn't look out of place stabled after working the scrap train down south;)
  11. Hi Damian, Yes that is so true at brush awaiting approval for months/years in long lines and now awaiting scrapping at toton in long lines! Don't think DB are willing to sell any on thou don't think they have to buy law? So they'd rather them all just rust to the rails as they are doing now. Maybe freightliner would be interested in a few but can't see drs wanting them unless for there intermodal trains they'd look a bit weird pulling a couple of flasks. Well if you can stretch to transrail days think they were there on test from 1994 and working the bullets from 1995 onwards so maybe? They are a cracking model much like others from Hornby its just warranting them on your time period kida.
  12. Hi Damian, Yes shes a true beast isn't she in construction and ew&s lovely machine which probably will go for scrap at some stage now her gutted body luys at toton with the others rotting away unfortunately who'd of thought that 60's would start to be withdrawn and stripped so soon after entering traffic unlike there english electric predesesers which are still not doing bad after 50 yrs actually only 66's coming in to the country which knackered everything up and saw the big withdrawals of decent loco's in place of these sheds horrible machines i gave up going out when they took over such is progress thou and luckily cracking layouts like yours reverberate to the sound of english electric engines good old days atleast we have our memorys
  13. Hi Damian, Shes just a top machine now sadly rusting away @ Toton but theres just something about her well named after mr Brush himself + its a huge nameplate with nice plaques so thought i'd have her number as a means of tribute to a cracking TUG at the end of my name:)
  14. No probs chap came across the pic straight away so thought yes i'll add the link as i've had loco's of Peakdaleworks before and they've all been perfect best re-sprays and weathering jobs i've seen anyways! Regards Rick.
  15. Just been looking thru pics of 60's and found this pritty much straight away on flickr! yep 60096 faded numbers and black cab side windows so it seems the guys at peakdaleworks got it right after all
  16. 37 looks great fela and good to see a loco with big noses presebt two like 47's 37's got everywhere! So no harm in having one on shed or your layout even two you could get a centre headcode version next bachmanns latest offering with lights is nice and domino headcodes:)
  17. Evening Damian, Eye no lol clocked dat wi the numbers as they are an thought ahh another one of them trains on time rush jobs! Easy fix i buy there 425 body as is to re-work an i find hmg thinners (howes models stocks it) is the best solution using johnsons buds very damp just rub gently away on the cant line and extra dotted all over the place warning flashes an they will come off fela;) then its just a case of re applying the cant between the blue & rail grey line and adding the one or two warning flashes on the body sides not forgetting to add red old styleys over the 4 on the noses two like while your at it i'd get some custom large logo white numbers made from John.P at precision labels and remove t,o,t's attempt that all do her she'll look superb then chap. Many Thanks, Rich.
  18. All looking good and nice new additions, just one thing is the 37412 body from trains on time? I've noted over the last few months they've been filling up ebay with there gastly over priced wrongly finished 37 bodys! Using wat must be an over flow of un sold G,A 37425 shells think they've done every 37/4 which worked north of the border but many mistakes made theres to many warning flashes for it to be a late 80's early 90's model + there up to date versions post 1998 and the cant line sits lower down as is correct for EWS 37425 but wrong for every scottish 37/4 there flinging on ebay! Cheers Rich.
  19. Superb Ian really looks the part especially with loco's on! Do you have any 37's to fot on the fueling point? And arpley modeller/lewis regardless of the ews maroon side cab windows 60096 still looks stunning and peakdaleworks clearly put a lot of work in to making her faded like that! Regards Rich.
  20. Hi Pete Looking good there bin catching up with your pages some great wording and pics to, i see you have the Hornby banger blue PED nice that chap like the white thornaby stripe and bird they suited this well i luv 31's an yours gives me inspiration:) Probably been asked before but were do you get the drivers from? I like the position there in i currently fit Bachmann class 25 drivers to my fleet with there arm stretched on the power handle but would like some like yours if there available? Cheers Rick.
  21. Hi Arnie, Nice pics chap liking the red stripe 37 and other depot members two must say i like 26's aswell wheither it be scotland your modelling or not they did get about a bit so you can get away with her been there Cheers, Rick.
  22. Hello Peter, All looking good on the ICI wagon, hopper but are you happy with the solebar been made in resin as it tends to warp and could buckle the wagon in due course! Either way I am looking forward to your rtr version of this cracking wagon
  23. Evenin Arnie, All looking superb as usual fela luv the night shots an all the br banger blue/sector loco's on your TMD more pics please matey Cheers.
  24. Hi Peter, All looking superb as usual i've missed seeing this glad your back now and sorry to hear about the floor problems thats not on atall well atleast you know for future reference if the exhibition hall floor is like a dirt path then take plenty of packers lol. Any pics of the moulded ICI hoppers would be good and if you also have any real pics of buxton 37's pulling them or RMC's would also be greatly appreciated shame the ICI kit isn't coming in to fruitition now was really looking forward to owning a rake of those hoppers two!
