The most ridiculous thing I witnessed during the show was actually late on Friday morning in Anstey. I’d already been to the show using the first train off Leicester and thought I’d pop in to the Signal Box model shop in Anstey on my way home. There was already a group of blokes in there when I entered and one of the shop staff said in a friendly tone “anyone going to the GCR show”. I stood in astonishment as this group of men relayed the fact that they had driven up all the way from Cheltenham for the show but had decided not to go “because of the flooding”. They were prattling on about not wanting to get stuck in the field at Quorn and so they’d decided to go home. They’d come all the way from Cheltenham to be 5 miles from the show just to drive all the way back again. I took great pleasure in relaying my trouble free experience of the show and hassle free parking at Leicester to get the free train to Quorn. One of them meekly said to the driver “we could still go” and the driver said “no, it’s too late now” and went of grumbling to himself in the corner......

Did anyone get any kind of confirmation of their order? I sent mine in last October and have heard nothing since and knowing Royal Mail I don’t want to find my order never arrived! Has MMRG sent confirmation emails?

He’d properly despise me then, I had a cab ride in her from Plymouth to Penzance, thereby being the first 40 basher to arrive in PZ on a 40 by roughly 70 feet!

I’ve not received any communication about this model since I registered for one well over a year ago, which is surprising. Any idea when they will be contacting people who have expressed an interest in one? When will we have to pay?

Whatever happened to this model? I signed up for it using the form on their page but never heard anything. Should I sign up again?!

The yellow chocks seem to have a securing lug molded into them? Is it intended that we will drill holes in the platform of the wagon to secure these lugs? I wanted to run empty and full carflats and my (hopefully) clever idea is to glue the chocks to the car tyres. This will also ensure the chocks are ideally spaced so that there is no fire and aft movement of cars, even when heavy shunting is involved!

Odd. UPS tracking shows my item hasn't been collected from Shildon yet, despite me getting an email saying "your parcel will be delivered tomorrow" earlier in the week.

Well, UPS are delivering something from "National Railway Museum" tomorrow. Can't think what else it could be!!!!
