  1. Hi If you happen to find out please could you let me know as I used to use the Colin Ashby seats but they now seem to be unavailable and I could do with an alternative. Cheers Paul

    Dapol HST

Hi The top speed is set in CV5 on the decoder. The track voltage can be changed (depending on the control system) but for N I wouldn't recommend raising it above 14v. Cheers Paul
  3. Hi I think I may have the livery details wrong, I meant this one http://www.ehattons.com/StockDetail.aspx?SID=33135 Cheers Paul
  4. Hi Though in some cases that does happen some people missed out on the original release of the Dapol 156 in Provincial Livery. Due to be released again this year I believe. Cheers Paul

    Dapol HST

Hi I hope they won't have the deflectors as I want to model the earlier sets before these were added. Much easier to add than to remove. Cheers Paul
  6. I have fitted the Dapol Knuckle couplers to my MK1 coaches. You need the same arrangement of long and short that has been used above with the Rapidos. My coaches will still go round 10" radius curves.
  7. Interesting what's the Trevor Hale method?
  8. The reason for the silvering effect under the transfer is that air has been trapped. The best course of action would be to remove them. Apply Klear as Missy said then put new transfers on. I wouldn't think you would be able to correct this by just applying Klear over the top.
  9. Hi Yes you are correct. Cheers Paul
  10. Are you going to modify the roof? I keep looking at mine thinking I should really fix that.
  11. Hi Yes the line closed in 1981. Cheers Paul
  12. Drop me a PM I have a few spare Mk1 roofs.
  13. Hi Slaters do 010 x 020 but the only 010 x 010 I have seen has been 010 diameter rod. I used the 010 thou rod to create the ribs on the top of this wagon. Cheers Paul
  14. Hi Yes they go on well with an application of Micro Set and Micro Sol. Forgot to look last night for the ref number. Reference number is 2757 Cheers Paul
  15. Hi Grahame I would be interested in seeing how you get on with the end recesses as I have been pondering that for a while now for my rake. Cheers Paul
  16. Hi Modelmaster do transfers for the Clams including the Yellow line but off hand I can't remember the sheet number. I can check tonight if no-one beats me to it. Cheers Paul
  17. Am I right in thinking that you are attaching the track directly to the board and using the template to build on. I tried to build a point on a separate template using EasiTrak and found that I had managed to bow it along the length. This looks like a much better idea. One question how are you planning on doing the tiebars and the subsequent connection to the point operating mechanism? Cheers Paul
  18. Hi I remember seeing a WR HST set at Rotherham Masborough on whats called the old road which bypassed Sheffield in the late 70s and from memory the set was 253017. Would this have been part of the same trial? Cheers Paul
  19. Hi Mine too has arrived and it is a wonderful model. I am very pleased with mine, which runs beautifully. The flexicoil suspension doesn't actually look as bad in the flesh as it did in the photos. Looking forward hopefully to 86235 in the 150th celebrations livery. Cheers Paul
  20. Hi Apart from the pantograph the other thing that lets the Dapol 86 down for me is the Flexicoil springs on the bogie. They arn't big enough the ones on the older Farish 87 look much better although not perfect. Compare the image in Model Rail of the Heljan and Dapol 86s in this area to see what I mean. Cheers Paul
  21. Hi I would be interested in any pictures anyone may have of Godley Junction and the nearby Brookfold sidings that may help me in my quest to build a representation of this location. Progress so far can be viewed here Godley Junction in N Cheers Paul
  22. Hi I have a couple of Michael's kits and they are very nicely etched and fit together very well for the part I have built. The sticking point for me now is the chassis and I have come to the conclusion that it will have to be a scratch built one as I can't find anything suitable that would fit. I measured the Kato shorty chassis I have in my Tamper but it was too high for the Harton electric. They are very small locomotives in N or 2mm. Cheers Paul
  23. Hi I would like to see 86235 Novelty with the 150 celebration marking but I don't think it would come out too well in 1/148. Cheers Paul
  24. Hi Jim Excellent bit of work. One word of advice, did you make notes on how you constructed everything? I never did and when I came back some of my started projects I struggled to remember how I had built parts of them. When building a number of the same type of wagon I try to build them at the same time to try and keep the parts to a similar standard though this isn't always possible. My rake of eight Anhydrous tankers for example has taken about four years so far and I have completed four of the wagons, the other four are in various stages which does allow me to remind myself of how they were constructed. You may find scratchbuilding becomes addictive. Cheers Paul
  25. Hi The problems mentioned in this thread are a few of the reasons I avoided these when I built my N gauge ones. Mine are by no means perfect but are a lot easier to build as the body is a one piece resin casting. Not a lot of use though if you want 4mm or 7mm versions. I have noticed that JLTRT have a 7mm 76 on their list is this any better than the MSL one or did JLTRT buy the MSL kit rights? I ask as I quite like the idea of having a pair of 76s in 7mm scale just to sit on the shelf. Cheers Paul
