  1. RAIB have just posted a video about the Spital Junction incident: Report released today: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/report-062023-train-overspeeding-at-spital-junction Martin.
  2. Interesting to watch again this video from 10 months ago.
  3. Some pictures of the P4 kits have been posted on the Scalefour forum: https://www.scalefour.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=98393#p98393 It seems these are a standard Finetrax product from Wayne, and availability via the Scalefour Society is not relevant for non-members. Martin.
  4. "Tesco Children's Multivitamin Tablets. Age 3+. Do not take if pregnant."
  5. Hi Keith, I had similar problems with a Windows10 computer. Running slow, random sudden shutdowns, difficulty starting. I had an inkling it was related to the Bluetooth system -- the Bluetooth icon on the taskbar would come and go for no reason. I switched off all the Bluetooth, changed to a USB mouse, and it ran fine for several years afterwards. Which may have been just a coincidence of course. But worth a try? Martin.
  6. Hi John, The P4 kits are being made for the Scalefour Society. Their info says occasional things such as "design agreed" and "stock expected", but as far as I know there has not yet been an announcement of actual availability. It's likely online supplies will be to members only, and to others at Scaleforum exhibitions. Wayne? cheers, Martin.
  7. What time is the Ordinary Breakfast?
  8. @Graham T Hi Graham, Not necessarily. You can run Templot on a Mac using CrossOver -- which doesn't require Parallels or a copy of Windows. There is a free trial period for CrossOver, so you can try Templot on it before you buy: https://www.codeweavers.com/crossover Lots more about running Templot on CrossOver on the Templot web site. cheers, Martin.
  9. Press release about this today from RAIB: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/train-overspeeding-incident-at-spital-junction-peterborough
  10. Hi Martyn, The best alternative is not to use any adhesive at all: The dreadful pong of Butanone was my prime reason for developing Templot plug track. The chairs are a press fit in the timbers -- no adhesive or gauges needed. For long-term security you can add a sealant into the chair sockets, during or after assembly (from below if afterwards). After much testing, the best sealant has been found to be an old half-used tinlet of Humbrol enamel paint, from the back of your modelling cupboard. Apply with a cocktail stick. Takes ages to go hard, but no matter because the chairs are a firm press fit and the sealant is only there to lock them in position for the long term. More about plug track on the Templot Club forum: https://85a.uk/templot/club • It's still very experimental and unfinished for turnouts (plain track is already done), but I'm hoping to have full turnouts possible soon -- any scale, any gauge, any REA turnout size, any radius. cheers, Martin.
  11. Hi Andy, The reason for that was so that a p.w. lengthman could walk his length down the centre of the four-foot and see both rails for any loose keys and bash them back in. Once along the up line and back along the down line. Having the rail hard against the outside jaw of cast iron chairs was found to give too hard a ride and lead to broken chairs. Having the tapered wooden (oak) keys on the outside provided just enough resilience for a smoother ride. It also had the effect that traffic loading increased the compression of the key, rather than releasing it, so much reducing the incidence of loose keys falling out. Likewise side-wear between the rail and the chair was eliminated, so helping to maintain the gauge. Wear was transferred to the key, and easily taken up by bashing it in further. cheers, Martin.
  12. Hi Andy, Thanks for the kind words about Templot. Just to mention that check rails were required to be fixed with solid wooden keys, and not spring steel keys. cheers, Martin.

  15. Yes, an amazing coincidence -- when I posted it I didn't know it was in the news again. Just my attempt to steer the topic back on-topic -- I used to drive past it quite often and always think of this topic. That image is actually from the 2009 Google view: https://goo.gl/maps/25i4ZuaNoyFWTfvy8 This is Terminal 2: https://goo.gl/maps/af5hgK9vMgwsESS5A Martin.
  16. . I have a UK ID card. It's a bit overdue for updating. I must take it to the local National Registration Office. Maybe I can renew it online? Martin.
  17. You can't be given permission by a sign to break the law. Why is it only untethered horses which may be stolen?
