Will be there with SNCF Stephen showing off his excellent range of French n gauge kits.
Looking forward to it.

Thanks chaps. Very helpful. Much appreciated.

Hello, looking to see whether there are any converters to link a Next18 Sound Chip to an 8 pin loco socket. Is this possible?
Many thanks.

33009 is an odd choice as I seem to remember that it didn't last long in Dutch livery after having an accident.
-
Though with tax taken into account won't they lose out eventually? I am assuming that they bought them full price at £160.
-
Interesting. And even more interesting Kernow have got them at the preorder price of £269.95. You can save a further 45p if you order the NSE one.
The pick of the bunch has to be the pack for £399.99 which consists of the NSE 4TC plus an NSE thumper!

These coaches do look good and I agree that the ends look great but to me the lack of silver lining around the windows really makes them stand out. I hope they sort this out for the next batch.

Just read through all the posts. Some fantastic work on the DMUs. You should be proud of your achievements.

If you don't mind the fact that they are 2f's and not 2d's, there is the batch of 64xx coaches that retained blue/grey but declassified. They were eventually converted into the 68xx series and repainted in IC colours.

Sorry mate. Cant find it. Now where did I leave the wife.?
No worries. Thanks for looking.

If anyone knows where to get hold of a cheap Next18 blanking plate i'd be interested in knowing where as I have a loco that requires one!
-
It's worth sending your story as a complaint to customer service as I would imagine you would get a full refund. I received a full refund when I was delayed by 3 hours a couple of years ago.
-
Fortunately others have replied as I know nothing about the coaches.
Just looking at the photos again and realise just how much my kids have grown!
-
Hope everyone there is having a good day.
Kernow were saying that there would be some limited edition 'packs' on offer. Has anyone seen what they are?
-
Great work as always. Remember that the original batch of Caps would not have had headlights on the black cab. Very minor issue and it wouldn't bother me, but just thought i'd mention it!
-
Wow, where do I sign up!
-
I hope all those who want one manage to get one. I remember many years ago the Limited Edition 158 that was sold old very quickly with a lot appearing on ebay days after the show.
-
Glad I have read all this about the decoder issue. I was planning to use mine with a blanking plate but I don't want the lights to burst!
-
Super work. I did a similar thing a few years ago but created a 455/9.
Your other EMUs look great too!

Didn't think the NSE one had arrived! It is not advertised as being in stock but your photos show that at least one has made it to the UK!

Photo heavy! All photos were taken from inside our train. All photos in order of the journey and are looking south/east. I can't remember where everything is!
Leaving Penn Station showing how dark it is!
After a long tunnel you emerge a few miles out of New York
Passing an Acela
One of the many Norfolk Southern Locos we saw on freight
Old looking abandoned diesel (not sure where)
Approaching Philadelphia. There are some very run down houses along here
Amtrak Depot
Running along through and alongside some lakes
Aberdeen!
Loco 639 had hauled us all the way
However our train was going further and 85 took the train forward (I think to Richmond)
It was a lovely journey and I am sure you will enjoy it. As a memento, after returning home I purchased a Kato n gauge set with an electric and coaches. On top of that I bought a couple of diesels to do the changeover at Washington!
After a few days in Washington we flew to Seattle from Baltimore airport, using the Marc Train to get to the airport. Super powered with a loco and three coaches!

Grand Central station definitely on list. Friends who've just visited NY said they went to Highline Park, a converted elevated railway now a walkway in West Manhattan, which had good views.
Yes Highline is definitely worth a visit. Was very popular too!

We did the same journey March last year. First time in the US and having flown into New York and being in the city for a few days, this was my first view of the US countryside. There are a few yards to be seen plus there is the Amtrak depot on theBay wayou though I can't remember where.
We opted for the North East Regional train which was far cheaper than the Acela and it is loco hauled.
I can dig out some photos that I took en route if you are interested.

I hope so though when I asked at the Old Oak Open Day they reckoned it was a couple of months away.
Draisine160 - French N Gauge Models

Morning. Thought i'd share my work.
I purchased one of the XR6000 bodies from Stephen and set to work on it. I decided to use a carriage chassis and shorten it to fit. Using an Ibertren Corail coach, I did a cut n shut with it. Painting of the body was fairly straightforward and I am pleased with the results. Can highly recommend the model that sits nicely on the back of an X2200 or X2800 railcar.
