  1. I'm just starting to prep the Street for Thornbury in November - and someone asked about a plan: Bakewell Street Plan 4.1.16..pdf
  2. I have to ask - where did you figures come from?
  3. I've just ordered the WOWSound kit for my #70 - looking forward to a bit of Alco thrash
  4. Lifelike (RS2) and Atlas (RS3) HO Boston & Maine Alcos on Twigg Avenue...
  5. How did you mask the windows - tape, a sharp knife and patience? Chris

If it is I'm not sure about the colours...
  7. My sources tell me that Derby locos are between D5186 and D5222 [25 036 and 25072)

I think the upshot of all this is that the liveries about to be delivered are prototypical but not "typical". Is that the case?

I made the same assumption - and I have now just switched my Green order to a pre-Tops Blue as I can make the changes to make it more "typical" myself - whereas matching and repainting a green roof was something I'd prefer not to do.... Chris
  10. I've got a black one but I quite fancy a green one...along with my Heljan Hymek the black one is is my "go to" loco on Bakewell Street...
  11. http://www.eafa.org.uk/catalogue/139644 Some uselful info here
  12. Indeed - I would have had one but it just looks wrong in the photos I have seen. Maybe it will be better in the flesh..
  13. http://www.class25.info/photograph_pages/individual_photos/770605_2425_BarmouthD.htm Best I can do from a quick web search
  14. I've looked at the drawings in the relevant MLI (177)and sadly the Heljan model does seem a little lacking in the front curve department..
  15. It's 2/2/3 with 40' cars -the cabooses are (I think) AMB - no to Champ I used the Microscale sheetsI had in stock
  16. Thanks - as I said it's a bit contrived but is a bit of fun - at the first show at StowRail we had it at table height and operated sitting down so people could also sit down and have a go.
  17. An early shot showing the size and presentation
  18. Some pictures from the construction phase. ]
  19. Just take your time and plan - nothing happens by accident (usually...) sometimes I follow the instructions....
  20. To be fair its a bit of a Craftsman kit bodge with Downtown Deco, a bit of an FSM kit placed on the layout, scratch built yard office and a few other bits - the signal tower is I think an HO kit from N scale architect and the bar is from JL Innovative - all a bit OTT but I like building them - the next layout will be a bit more downbeat I think...
  21. This overhead shot gives a good idea - it's pretty basic! Its 4 ' long with an extra foot at the switching lead as a small extension on the right plus a run off to a staging track on the front road on the left - not entirely necessary but a bit more track to play with when showing.
  22. I thought I ought to start a topic for my US HO shunting plank. I started in US HO when I first returned to the hobby seriously in the 1990s and I have a lot of B&M stock I would like to run every now and again following the sale of Gilbert JUnction. This layout was was originally built as a small demo tool with a lot of easy green scenery but I decided to rip that all off and add a few existing buildings and make up a few more. Only had one outing so far. As you can see I do run non-New England stock as well....(Rule 1 applies)
