  1. I'll try to post some more photos of D9523's trip to RB tonight Chris
  2. All just worked for me Chris
  3. Volume 2 is supposed to be out by Warley 2015 - includes Forest of Dean apparently..... Chris
  4. Great stuff - when will they be available? Chris
  5. Hattons have said this to me: I have checked the similar B tanks we have in stock and unfortunately all of them are unnumbered and do not come with number sheets or transfers. It is to my understanding that for whatever reason Heljan have not included them on any of these models.
  6. No transfers in mine - I think Railtec are looking into suitable sheets but if they weremeant to be supplied it would be nice to have them
  7. Thanks - the over-riding impression I'm getting from that plus side-on shots is that unless the loco is spotless the top of the boiler and tanks is very similar (if a little more subtle) in appearance to the roof of the cab! Chris
  8. Has anyone found any decent prototype phots of the green version showing the top of the boiler and panniers as I'd like to weather mine and i can't find anything to show how the greeen top weathered in use Chris
  9. Thanks Steve The 40 is too big for my spray booth so will be along later...
  10. A few photos from this morning following a weekend away "weathering" at Missenden.
  11. Have you not heard of the O'Heljans from Donegal...oh dear...
  12. What transfers are people using to add Helljan Esso Tank numbers? I don't want to splash out on anything costly just for one wagon! Chris
  13. Heljan new 7mm Esso Tank orderd Saturday; email to say picked Sunday afternoon, delivered by Yodel Monday morning - I can't complain...
  14. I've just got mine and I have to say at first glance I'm not disappointed - springing is prolific - a bit odd but it all seems to run and I'm not sure where I'm going to fit my Spratt & Winkle couplings due to all the detail but that's my problem. I'm taking mine to Missenden for weathering under supervision! Chris
  15. It was Adrian who inspired my post...am I banned?
  16. It's the Dapol version apparently....
  17. Expensive but worthwhile are the Parkwood Arts RUB inserts - I use their OO inserts for both 4mm and 3.5mm stock in both 2 layer and 4 layer boxes - the inserts are slightly longer for the 2 layer version- and they will sell the inserts separately if you already own the boxes. http://www.parkwood-arts.co.uk/html/oo___ho_gauge_.html Chris

I really would stick with genuine Kadees if you require reliability and resilience - they do a smaller HO "scale" head if you prefer something smaller Chris
  19. Where are people buying their kits - directly from Cambrian? Chris
  20. Short trains of these went up via Coleford to Whiteciffe Quarry in the Forest of Dean Chris
  21. In some photos that I assume are of black wagons the lettering does look to be white - or am I mistaken? Chris
  22. Hi Marc I'll see you at Bristol I'm helping with a friends layout best Chris
  23. I painted the figure - Halfords white spray primer on a cleaned up figure and then a succession of blue/greys based on Vallejo colours for the jacket and trousers; black for the hat with a badge touched in with a Games workshop colour similar to gunmetal (?Chainmail) flesh is an old acylic I got from a war gaming shop and it's very similar to the Humbrol enamel flesh I remember from my wargaming days in the 1970s......the secret is to use very littl paint on the brush and build up gradually - I also use a light with an in-built magnifier. (I'm glad I don't do much in 4mm any more..) I suspect you can squeeze the "torso" on to the existing seat if the legs are chopped off complete;y but I wanted a bit of a gap between panel and chest hence the back of the seat amputation... Chris
