Liverpool central station
Gilbert replied to Roger Sunderland's topic in Modelling Questions, Help and Tips
All 3 in the series are excellent books -
Doh...headcodes from Heljan...discs from Hattons....muppet...

Having picked up both flyers yesterday I'm not sure why the Hatton's liveries are unique as both seem very close to those offered by Heljan - anyone know any more?

I'm sure these guys had an article in one of their "On Shed" journals - all downloadable. http://www.8dassociation.btck.co.uk/ -

I saw them today and they are splendid models that are done to such a level that they are consistent with my detailed knowledge of GWR wagons...lovely

These are the few I've managed to compress for web use so far. Very pleased to see Fearless - I was also very pleased to pick up the Loco's "Life and Times" published by the D400 Fund - I got up to page Page 72 during my train ride to Telford...- 135 replies

It was very well done - and very busy (I was glad I took some food and drink with me) - I will post photos tomorrow once I'm back from Telford Chris -
Has anyone sold surplus stock with Hattons recently - any comments? Chris

I was there on Friday during the Rails and Ales gala. Came away with some paint and Bachmann wagon I was after - and very pleased to find. It has a reasonable selection of modelling supplies as well as RTR. I normally find something to tempt me...... Chris

Welcome to the cameo competition

It's all a bit worrying - photographs of model railways are appearing on this thread - will the Mods please get a grip...... -

"So my plan tonight is to draw up a 2001mm long scheme (evil laugh....)" Will you be allowing for the expansion and contraction caused by variable temperatures and humidity in exhibition venues....??? -

Apart from a very small number of additional booksales - I'm sure very few potential entrants would buy the book just to enter the competition or would not have bought it anyway - could you please explain what you think Mr Castens is gaining from this competition. Rhetoric question....Why is it so many threads on RMweb just go sour - to such an extent that when one sees a pleasant constructive thread - maybe a helpful response about lost instructions for an old kit you pinch yourself and go - "that's what this forum should be about" Chris -
Is £5000 a year for a season ticket too much?
Gilbert replied to woodenhead's topic in UK Prototype Questions
Bristol to Newport and return c. 80 miles at 15p (fuel only not true cost inc wear & tear, repairs etc etc ) = £12 per day + bridge at £6.70 = £18.70 per day x 5 x approx 47 weeks = nearly £5000 - simples.... Chris -
I think if they've been in MRJ it's OK....

While I completely recognise the issues of space, circulation, temperature (sometimes) etc associated with the Town Hall it would not be "Railwells" if it was not in that venue - in addition the Saturday market means we have a family day out including lunch in town as well - and where else do you get a wedding taking place in the middle of a model railway show!? Great show btw...nice to see a few blue diesels in action. Chris

Looks black in the print version too.

Presumably that means someone has been playing "hide the sausage"....
