It's the ATC pickup

Thanks Andrew. I've just started a Mitchell 517 so when I'll start the Moguls is uncertain - I must resist the temptation to get distracted from it!

I'm following your thread with great interest as I've 3 of these kits to do (you can never have too many Moguls) but heaven knows when I'll be able to get round to them. I want to produce 3 variants, including one of the early short-cab versions, all in early 1920s condition. Your use of CSB has rather encouraged me to go the same way so thank you for that! There is one thing - which gear box & motor are you using? I've been encouraged such that I might even make a start stocking up on the necessary parts for the first one from High Level Kits at Railex!

Try ringing him - 01429 269600
or send him an order by post. (30, Silverwood Close, Hartlepool, TS27 3QF).
I have a 2016 kit list in front of me. The LSWR Meat Van Diag.1484 is £16.00 (code S/009). No LSWR Cattle Wagon is listed but there is a SR Maunsell Cattle Wagon Diag.529 at £18.00 (code S/111). Postage is £3.00 per wagon.

Absolutely brillant from start to finish, great imagination & wonderful photography!

Fifty years! Thanks for posting these very nostalgic photos.

Will you be adding a representation of the thick layer of grease that was added to the top of the parapet c1963, presumably as an anti-climbing measure? (It soon dried out/got washed away tho'!)

Fantastic! I'm really very envious of the space you've got & what you've been able to build on it. My suggestions that we need to 'up-size' now I'm retired haven't been met with any enthusiasm by the rest of the household (tho' I suppose the dogs wouldn't mind).

Agreed, very nice work Alan. I especially like the half-opened front cab window. How did you do that? Is it in your blog or have I missed it? I have a pannier with HL chassis to start but I want to do an early version (c1930), so without top-feed. I'm a bit nervous about the surgery!

Well, no, actually. One of the features of train sim is that the locos appear far more powerfull than in real life, or maybe the stock has less rolong resistance. Anyway, with 7 ex-LMS coaches on, the 5 waltzed up to Fishponds with no trouble. Struggled up Lickey, though. Again no banker, but full regulator and nearly full gear with sanders on! Mmm, better get back to the modelling. To facilitate bankers, I assume Barrow Road will be DCC?
Dave.
Well yes, actually. Until c1960 my grandparents lived in Chelsea Park & so their house backed onto the line. I distinctly remember 47333 banking there.

Did you collect a banker for this ascent? - usually a 4F or Ivatt tank.
...or a Jinty

Stunning. Can't wait to see it completed! Wish I'd taken a few more photos but film was expensive & pocket-money inadequate!
