  1. Yes I did spot Clarendon. Looking forward to another excellent show in a couple of months time.
  2. Missed last years show(s) due to other commitments, but this years looks a good lineup.
  3. I had this book for review recently and it is indeed an excellent book on a subject I admittedly didn't know a great deal about before the book arrived.
  4. Merry Christmas all RMWeb members. A lovely Christmas have been had so far, though knackered after a long drive back to the Midlands from Anglesey to visit other half's family for christmas, sadly he has work tomorrow so had to drive  back today.

Poppy the dog had a lovely time sniffing out new things and exploring the massive garden.

  5. Yes, I've noticed TS2020 is rather expensive when you add the DLC to it. But with so many to choose from you don't need to get all of them at once, I doubt most people would be able to complete them all with so many! Speaking of sales of Games, GOG.com and fanatical.com have some good sale deals on at present, often cheaper than steam itself.
  6. Rogers showed what he can potentially do at Liverpool, though imo he wasn't at the right stage of his career as a manager for such a big step up at the time (plus was certainly hampered by the transfer committee system in place (which seems to have also effected Man Utd since Ferguson left). He has the best opportunity to make a success and win some English trophies at Leicester, they've some promising (and very good already) young players, so I can see them fighting season-on-season for top 8, maybe top 6 consistently. Arsenal is a 5 year+ task of total rebuild, and not just players, the philosophy of the club and backroom is in dire need of a shake up, Wenger really stayed too long and let rot set in before he left.
  7. I have RDR2 on Xone, and it didn't grab me as much as RDR1 did previously. But still enjoyed the amount of it I bothered to play.
  8. Hmm, it appears to not be working for me. Clicking add to basket seems to not do anything and the basket remains empty..
  9. Should have followed the link really and I'd have seen that!
  10. Just to clarify a point you make here. You don't get free entry to Scaleforum or Scalefour North, but members DO get reduced entry, which like non-member pricing is valid for both days at both shows. It should also be mentioned, that if you go to Expo EM or Scalefour Shows you don't need to be a member to buy from the respective society shows on those days. Another point to make is that the Scalefour Society has two shops on the website, members and public. It will be upto to the committee of the society to deem if the OO Gauge fasttrack should be in which however and i'm not sure what if any decision has been made in that respect.
  11. LT did have a peckett saddle tank loco. That does seem to suit that loco though.
  12. Unfortunately I didn;t get chance to visit the stand due to being busy on the DEMU stand all weekend. Did want to discuss a few things with you, but not end of world i didn;t. Look forward to seeing the new 37 and the KUA is tempting for sure.
  13. IIRC Hornby have the licences to the Warner Bros. items, which includes Harry Potter.
  14. Morning all, hope all are well? if not sympathies and best wishes as appropriate. Off to Warley in a bit for a busy day 1 of the weekend on the DEMU stand. Some better sleep would have helped matters, but plenty of tea will be consumed to compensate!
  15. Looking forward to a busy but fun day in a couple of hours. Could have done with more sleep mind.... but caffeine will help.
  16. Strange, I must have gotten lucky with my X360s and Xones, had none fail on me (other than one arriving DOA second hand), only reason I had more than one X360 was I upgraded to newer versions later on (as far as I know the last one I got still works fine, but just haven't powered it on for a while). Avoiding WiFi in general for video and gaming is preferrable I find. I'm not sure you'd have had a good experience with Stadia even if it worked as claimed, as from my own past experience of VMs fiber network, they've tended to have more latency than BTs fiber offerings, but that might have changed. Of course that assumes you got a code to activate the Stadia in the first place and have a Pixel phone for the activation app! Power over mains seems to work fine ime in most cases, unless the wiring is rather old. You might find you have to reboot the devices every so often however, but that is a minor niggle.
  17. A busy afternoon setting up the DEMU and Signalling Record Society stands today. Looks like it will be another great show.
  18. The delay is fine by me, more time to collate the needed funds! I'd rather more time was taken to get things right than release a subpar model.
  19. Getting back the gaming... The Stadia looks like a 'good idea', but it will be difficult to compete with the triple might of MS/Sony/Nintendo I expect, though with Google behind it, it may either have loads of money thrown at it and then quietly abandoned or loads of money thrown at it and Google making it compelling somehow... though I remain skeptical of how they might do, however compression algorithms improve all the time and there are other similar concepts being worked on, with MS using pre-rendered graphics delivered in real-time from their cloud solution for the Xbox. Mostly gaming wise recently I've been playing Titan Quest Anniversary Edition, which seems to be rather buggy in the enhanced/DX11 mode, but ok in DX9. Otherwise the new Star Wars game looks promising from the small amount I played it over the weekend.
  20. IIRC, both the PS4 and Xbox One throttle the maximum speed attainable from the ethernet or wifi port on either console to load balance things.
  21. This seems to be par the course for most councils/housing associations these days. They automatically apply for court action if you miss a payment for 21-28 days and if you miss a months rent and become in arrears. It saves them time in things like evictions and recovery as the court papers are already processed and waiting to be enacted as needed. Of course if they enact them, you end up paying those costs too.
  22. Morning from a soggy Coventry. Hope everyone are well? if not best wishes/sympathies as appropriate. The Homing Missile should be on her way soon, so I'll get excited by excited dog and probably lots of licks and tail induced bruising. Whilst I was awake I've gotten some things done, mostly trying to fix a broken Plex server (presently waiting for backup of data before full reinstall occurs) following the utter mess up from the latest update (which worked fine on Richard's Plex server, but screwed mine up, weird!). As well as that I've redrawn the track diagram in Templot quickly easing point tightness and a few other things. Right, more tea is needed and hopefully bacon when Richard arrives with the Rocket Dog.
  23. Morning all. Awake early after crashing out not long after getting back from the Lincoln and district post modernisation diesel and electric show yesterday. A good day and good show. Suspect I'll be heading back to bed for more rest and heat treatment care of bagpuss hot water bottle for my back. Despite the exhaustion and agony that follows going to the shows is good fun and gets me out of the flat at least which is a good thing. Tomorrow morning I should be awoken by the flying missile named poppy. Not seen her or Richard for a little over a week so will be good to see them. No further news on my dad, I'll phone my mum this evening probably and see how he was when she visited yesterday.
  24. Morning all. Hope all are well, if not best wishes as appropriate. Off to Newark Showground for the Lincoln and District Post-Modernisation Plan Exhibition to staff the DEMU stand with Natalie. Should be a good day hopefully Phoned my mum last night, dad is doing reasonably well all considered, though has picked up MRSA, so is a bit out of it due to the effects of the antibiotics he's on. He's hoping to be out of ITU and onto the Oncology ward soon though and hopefully will be home sometime next week, this time with a catheter to hopefully prevent another infection occurring.
