  1. One of my local club members picked up that Game are selling Australian C38 class locos - https://www.game.co.uk/en/lima-arm-c38-class-steam-locomotive-2894348
  2. Nick The ones that come to mind are the Seaboard Southern show in Crawley in September and the NMRA British Region convention in Derby (non member day is usually the Saturday see https://www.black-diamonds.org.uk/convention/ ) Patrick
  3. A belated God jul and gott nytt åt! to all Going back to Vaggeryd the station was being rebuilt (Y1 1274 was on a service train for the county transport authority) Heading towards Halmstad.. Every stop for photos involved climbing down from the train and then joining the photo line as the train backed up and then ran forward ( I got bored and stayed on for one run-by)
  4. A bit late but Jeco announced in December: SJ T23 https://www.mjhobby.se/prodlist3.asp?c=2163 and various Y6 trailers https://www.mjhobby.se/prodlist3.asp?c=51 (the 4 wheeler is an existing model)
  5. I have had Cal-scale parts from Mech Models who get them from Walthers but they are not cheap. I have bent basic straight grabs up from handrail wire but for more complex grabs buying is easier.
  6. If you can find them and can stand the issues with them (the moldings are frequently banana shaped), the old Eastern Car Works range of PRR coach kits included a number of the rebuilds.
  7. The following day started with a steam hauled train from Nässjö to Halmstad along the old HNJ mainline. The line was being upgraded and it was a chance to see it before everything changed. This included the semaphore on the Nässjö approach to Vaggeryd . Nässjö PW yard (the former HNJ loco depot) A couple of Y6 derived PW vehicles The approach signal at Vaggeryd showing stop - I believe it was the last semaphore of this type on the mainline network. We had all de-trained and were walking up the line so that we could take photos of our train passing the signal. Our loco Kalmar Järnväg No 17 (4-6-0 Motala 1930), passing the signal on its run-by, the signal aspect means Kör 40 (proceed at 40kmh with caution)
  8. Falköping Shed was at the time a home to the Swedish Multiple unit society (SMOK) Various units on shed (left to right Y6 type DMU, 4 wheel trailer UF6 2051 a standard G van as a stores vehicla and drasine MDR 35?? A X16 EMU under repair Another view of UF6 2051

  11. Continuing on we arrived at Lidköping where we met Y1 2382 and T21 83. Trolman Station, now a private home Mariestad loco shed
  12. Moving on along the former 891mm gauge line (widened in stages from 1953-1965) A view of the trackbed A very small goods shed (very similar to a Heljan kit) The Y6 set approaching a crossing Järpåas station building and a point lever, not the green signal panel on the station building behind
  13. Changing into the Y6 set at Håkantorp The train at various points on the run north
  14. We all changed from our sleeper train into our first multiple unit of the day: X9 No 138 Our routing from Gothenburg was; along the Bohus line to Uddevalla, then across via Öxnered to Håkantorp where we changed trains for a run via Lidköping to Gårdsjö and then on to Falköping. The photos were taken where the the line crosses the Nodre älv, the views were pretty good... At Stenungsund we came across T44 387 on a freight.
  15. Back in time to 1998 when the Swedish Railway Club (SJK) ran a large multi day rail tour before major changes / improvements to the network were made in the early 2000's Also it was a chance to celebrate 40 years of the society hence the tour's name Kör 40 The tour started in Stockholm with a quick trip to Vartan and then an overnight trip to Gothenburg Motive power was TGOJ Ma 403 (ASEA 1954), note the porthole windows on the side against the SJ version which had square windows. Running round our mobile hotel at Vartan On arrival at Gothenburg we came across a pair of X11 EMU's in the local PTA's livery And a Rc4 hauled passenger train
  16. Not just hoppers and gondolas but also box cars and even stock cars (extra boards were needed to keep the cargo in)
  17. D109 and a narrow gauge industrial diesel, the space in the museum is somewhat constrained... The cab of CHJ 17 (2-6-0) 3rd class coach CHJ 68, note the different axle boxes! A re-purposed steam loco tender
  18. I also made a day trip to Kristianstad railway museum located at Kristianstad Södra (south) Z49 126 outside the museum Malmö Limhamns Järnväg J 308 an example of a typical open from southern Sweden, they are known as shgar beet wagons for good reason!. Former four weel coached A former Co6 / B6 class coach Looking towards the station building A truck based drasine alongside the former HNJ workshop complex
  21. The Walthers doodle bug is effectively double ended as it has rear windows, however you would need to add some sort of pilot and a headlight to the rear of the car.
  22. The oldest photo I can find B1371 in Rättvik in 1980 The Y railsbus at Wansford in the late 1980''s The "famous" TGOD inspection Volvo at the national museum in Gävle, it has moved to the TGOJ museum in Grängesberg since I took the photo
  23. Back to Sweden and to Malmö Various units stabled / arriving & departing from Malmö central in the late 1990's
  24. Some less Swedish wanderings, in fact Danish Railways 150 in Copenhagen in the summer of 1997 There was a parade of trains in central Copenhagen and also a static display. Somewhat in contrast to the recent 175th which was somewhat low key I understand... F Class 0-6-0 A Triangel rail bus Pr class 4-6-2 No 908 Class MY 1101 in its original livery A unidentified steam loco The display area with a vintage train passing, hauled by an E class 4-6-2 (SJ class F)
