I have downloaded the Hornby International catalogue,  Free download by the way,  and had a close look at the container wagon.  It appeares to have the CT, Channel Tunnel intials on it so presumably cleared for CT operations and possible UK use??

I was actually referring to Hornby points and DCC Clips now being available. I shouldn't have included the previous post as it was misleading.

I was saying I had set up stock alerts to be notified when points were in stock but that I hadn't received any notification.

Surely if they want to sell this stuff then they should be letting people know when it is available if people have asked to be notified? Or are stock alerts not via email?

What are DCC Clips??  Never heard that term before.

My membership pack which was ordered on 28th October arrived today but still haven't received the newsletter that was said to be more likely to arrive first. Probably Royal Mail strikes to blame so will enjoy continuing to do the proof reading of the catalogue that Hornby failed to do.

Still waiting my pack from 10th October but got  the first newsletter/magazine mid November.

Checked in to see how the thread was going, nice to see it's continuing to add pages of nothingness, the consistency is remarkable 🙂

What's the longest known thread on rmweb?

But some people are now getting their 'Scotsman' train sets.  😀,  Dont expect we will see many more new TT products now till end Jan/ Feb.

Absolutely delighted to say that Liguria will be making an appearance in the next upcoming issue of Continental Modeller, available from December 15! I've spent decades reading model railway magazines marvelling at the standard of layouts within, can't quite believe Liguria will now be one of them 🤩

Nice article and enjoyable read in the January Continetal Modeller. I would like to do something similar in H0 scale one day, ( I have a Roco E656 Caimano on pre-order from Germany). Like you I have visited the Nice- Ventimeglia-Genoa area a few tiems, regretablly, I did not take any photos at the time during my visits!!

From the videos I’ve seen over the past couple of days, one thing I’m noticing is that - relative to the size of the rolling stock - the curves look quite generous for a train set (ie: the overhang doesn’t seem as severe as I’d anticipated).  It would take a side-by-side comparison with an equivalent OO set to properly demonstrate it*, so I just wondered if anyone else was seeing it like I am?

Just to add what @Hobby and @PaulRhB have explained, in addition to other clarifying comments there is also a disclaimer on the back of the TT:120 catalogue:

The illustrations of such items show Hornby prototype or photo enhanced models which may not conform exactly to production versions.”

Personally I’m enjoying having an ‘old fashioned’ style catalogue to browse through - it’s a long time since I had a nice glossy one in my hands for a change, Keith.

    * Mathematically, the radius : scale ratio can easily be checked, but factoring in the correct width track for TT:120 to work out overhang makes the calculation that bit more complex.

I am still waiting for my catalogue and membership pack after two months, (joined 10th Oct.) Have sent then an email but no reply as yet.

Got an email from DPD saying my 'Scotsman' set will be delivered tomorrow!

Earlier then SK originally thought. Great news

im sure we will see a lot of youtube reviews etc starting tomorrow and more track etc being released this week.

If and when you get chance, would you mind posting some pics on here?  It will be nice to see some actual production models.

Hope you enjoy the set and that the wait will be worth it. 😀.

Amazing that they have got it to Canada.  Joined on 10th October and I am still waiting for mine  and I'm only just across the Irish Sea and not the Atlantic lol... 🙄 Emailed them last week but not had a reply. Time for a phone call I think

Spoke to a helpfull assistant in Hornby customer services yesteday, she told me that they had been overwhelmend by the response of the TT:120 lauch. She said to allow 60 days from joining, but should have recived my membership pack by now, she could not do anything herself but told me it would be passed on the the appropriate person to chase up.

Ever since I enrolled in the TT 120 club and agreed to get Hornby emails I have only seen OO offers - why isn't TT:120 being pushed?

    4 hours ago, Moxy said:

Probably because they haven't got any TT product in stock to push yet. (except track, which they do have in stock, but have already said they are waiting for the trains to arrive from China before releasing that.)  The Flying Scotsman set is the first train set to go out.

Hornby have obviously got thier reasons for not releasing the track yet, but would have thougt it better to sell some track now so people could start building layouts ready for when the stock arrives.??

Hopefully in the new year we will see some more promotion of TT:120 whne stock becomes available.

My Hornby TT:120 Club package arrived yesterday here on the wet coast of Canada. Now to wait (im)patiently for the train sets. I hope we have at least one in time for our B3 Dinner (that's Beer, Burgers and BS) in January. We usually plan our (Pacific Northwest TT-Scale Modellers) TT-Tracks displays for the coming years.

What do you use for fixing set track down ? I'm looking for a means of doing it such that it's very easy to lift the track. I'm thinking of very small black self tapping screws. What do you think?

58 minutes ago, Jeff Smith said:

A lot of people use white pva - it grips enough to hold the track but can still be lifted fairly easily.  Don't use screws or pins/nails as it can distort the track.

I use PVA myself, use weights whilst drying, I used food cans laid longways in the 4'.  Advantage of PVA is if you ever want to lift the track it can be softend with a bit of water.

I have heard of others using copydex, but no experiance of that myself.

  11. For those of us in the TT:120 club,  Hornby have got the second part of the Train Termial blog up in the members area.  Some nice images of the 08 and samples of the HST & Mk3 coach.

Good news re Ladders, they will be removed on the production models for the relevant versions, so Hornby do listen to feedback from' customers'.

Once they are blackened it may not matter so much. I am pleased they did spoked wheels. Hope they offer them as a part.

Once the range developes, hopefully there will be additional parts like spare wheel sets, couplings etc.

Not sure if the axle is a standard length in TT:120, but Tilling do some wheel sets.   https://www.modellbahnshop-lippe.com/Accessory/Accessories/gb/liste.html?spur=TT&hersteller=Tillig&grup=Wheels

Make sure you've got the little box ticked in your account if you want emails. If you already have, check your spam/junk folder as they might end up there.

I've had about a dozen from the various Hornby brands in the last week. All wanted.

Just got this one about half an hour ago.

I have just checked my Hornby account and have all the relevant boxes ticked for the emails I would like,  the last email I had from Hornby was earlier this week for the rewards scheme.  Looks like I may have to contact them to.  Nothing in my spam folder either (I do check regular).

  14. What is this Newsletter?  I have not had one or an email,  is it only been sent to people who have preordered?

The only correspondence I have received since joining the TT:120 club on 10th October is the initial confirmation email and the first issue of the club magazine last week.
