  1. Hello. It's the layout board dimensions/construction details and track plan. If memory serves it can fold for transportation. I'm after building a similar design that can fold in half. I had the railway modeller, but was nagged into clearing out old issues as I don't need them...
  2. You had me confused there, this is the woodhead section I'm surprised there isn't a layout topic. It's a little cracker
  3. Hello chaps. I can't seem to find a layout topic for mini-msw, the nice 2mmfs woodhead layout. I remember seeing it in railway modeller and have tracked the issue to august 2010. Does anyone have this issue? And if it's not too checky could anyone scan the article for me please? I'm after a couple of details that I can't find from photos of the layout
  4. I like the proper LBSCR route disks on the front.
  5. Hmmm... Well I was right about the southern green N with elephant ears. Didn't think it would get a retool within two years though!
  6. I totally agree (about the bread and butter models bit). I would have thought these would be at the top of the list for any manufacturer. Look at the continued sale of the old Farish models on eBay! I would rather Farish made them as standard models
  7. If the Nelson is announced I hope and will be waiting for a schools with a Nelson tender. That would be very pretty
  8. I would imagine that was because they produced an equal amount of blue grey to traditional units. Had they produced more standard coloured 5BEL's they would have sold more. If they produced a 67 livery version with the small yellow panels they would sell. Or a rerun of 30's condition units. But proper Pullman cars would sell by the bucket load. If Farish don't make them I would have thought a DJM crowd funder would be the best bet. Even if sold in rakes of 6, 8 and 10.
  9. The more I think about it the more the S&D 7F makes sense. They already have the stanier and MK1 coaches available as well as some smaller midland loco's. You also have southern locos and coaching stock from "the other guys". They produced a SDJR livery jinty and 4f as well so obviously like the subject
  10. Perhaps a slope sided tender version of the N class? A rerun of Southern green this time with smoke deflectors would add enough variety to make it worth while. This time maybe a larger run of southern livery! They always sell out before every other version. Example... Olive M7 Olive terrier Olive schools Olive N I know these are mostly from another manufacturer but it does suggest a pattern with buyers worth taking note of. I bet you any money the southern black C class sells out before the other versions.
  11. I know it's very early days but what are the thoughts on the C class CAD?
  12. I was actually thinking of the SDJR 7F 2-8-0
  13. The malachite Bulleid's coaches that say aug/sept... I can't remember if they are now late or due next summer. I think they may be delayed?
  14. I like union mills models very much Particularly the southern machines. They have brilliant running qualities and with extra detailing can be turned into very nice models, particularly the newer releases. The Dean goods will be a little present to myself in the new year. But come on, the Farish model would be a very different animal EDIT: If only for ease of DCC fitting.
  15. The 7F or G2 has to be on the shrink list as well I would imagine. I'm sure they would sell well.
  16. Agreed. Old cars are fine and prototypical But whilst I can tell you what was on the rails in the 30-40's I have no clue what was on the road really.
  17. With the staggered payments what are the individual payments likely to be? And ruffly how far apart? Based on the 14 car set.
  18. Are they planning to increase the N gauge range as well do you know?
  19. One thing I would like to see would be the adoption of the era system on road vehicles. For example something like the steam roller marked era-2 or a sprinter van era-9, that sort of thing.
  20. For all things southern Mike's movies is the best I think. Just been rebranded to model railways unlimited I think. I dare say a couple will pop up on there
  21. Another run of N gauge 5BEL's would be nice. Perhaps with the yellow panel. If you have the tooling why not use it!
  22. I'd be perfectly happy with pure shrink ray items. The E4 and Atlantic being top of the list. I'm still amazed that the MLV and EPB haven't been shrunk down yet. But from other regions I'm also surprised they've not done the 56xx or 105 DMU. These seem like a dead cert for sales. While we're at it what's the delay on a standard 4MT!?!
  23. No rush, just checking it's still on the to-do list Thanks for the reply
  24. The advert claims they were used by all the big four. When did the southern use one? That would be a handy justification
