  1. Re the 9F charter.... 1965... Don't know how I got 1953. Cheers, Steve.
  2. Apologies if a repeat, found this one of a 1953 charter.: http://www.time-capsules.co.uk/picture/show/3063/Steam-locomotive-92097 Cheers, Steve.
  3. Hi, -taking Roy's lead (thank you), I had a look at the 'Time Capsules' and found these (though in black & white): http://www.time-capsules.co.uk/picture/show/1318/Sunderland-Shed http://www.time-capsules.co.uk/picture/show/1046/Sunderlands-busy-shed-in-1958 Cheers, Steve.
  4. A quick post of encouragement. I'm living vicariously through this (and other RMweb projects) while my stock lies dusting in boxes. Keep up the good work! Cheers, Steve. 5. Hi Scott, A belated 'welcome back!' My Co'TN hasn't turned a wheel yet either! Must get moving... Cheers, Steve
  6. Hi Adrian, Toddler twins and a new job had to take priority... On the plus side, I'm almost finished adding some power outlets and rehanging the door (outwards). I'll take some photos for the day when I get a little more content for a blog! Cheers, Steve
  7. Hi Adrian, Looking forward to seeing progress. I have a similar situation (though smaller at 15x18') where I need an 'official office' but will have shelf rack 'slots' around the walls for a modular system. Shades of Iain Rice meets foam baseboards. 2,400mm per module sounds large, how often do you need to move them? Will they fit through doors/trapdoor? Good luck! Steve.
  8. Good luck Dave. May common sense prevail. Cheers, Steve O
  9. Looks great Peter! Captures a bright summer day in the country. The cows certainly make a difference vs. The stereotypical bus on the overbridge. Cheers, Steve.
  10. Hi, A little earlier than the 9Fs but here: http://www.gracesguide.co.uk/The_Engineer_1914/05/01 (Download PDF (28 pages) and go to page 491) ...is a 1914 report on the station at Tyne Dock (approx where the gantry was later built) from 'The Engineer'. I've just discovered Grace's Guide (thanks to rmweb) and am likely to be stuck there for a while. Cheers, Steve.

    Hornby P2

Hi Folks, Confirming that it's the listing that says 'Sold out'. Also, I took the easy/lazy route and got Hattons to fit a decoder, so it should have been tested (re earlier comment about pick-ups). "This is an automatic notification to inform you that we have processed your order for the following items: 1 * Bachmann Branchline 36-553 8-pin 3-function 1A decoder with back EMF @ £12.92 each = £12.92 1 * Hattons Model Railways Ltd SrvDCCFitReady01 Fit 1x 8 or 21 pin decoder into a single DCC Ready item - DCC Fitting Service @ £12.00 each = £12.00 1 * Hornby R3207 Class P2 2-8-2 2001 'Cock O' The North' in LNER livery . "Main range"version. Etched nameplates & enhanced livery - allocation sold out to pre-orders @ £82.50 each = £82.50" She's in transit to the US, shipping cost is the same as the removed VAT, which is nice. (And being sent to my work address so can hide her from the Mrs) Cheers, Steve.
  12. Hi, more info... http://www.cheshirewestandchester.gov.uk/microsites/chester_renaissance/a_changing_city/chester_transport_strategy/idoc.ashx?docid=d3f608a1-3cfb-4df8-b50f-ac249ebefd75&version=-1 Cheers, Steve.
  13. Just the one... Seagull in garter blue.
  14. Hi, I also have a vague recollection of print advert featuring a green cl. 24 or 25 with a whole train of Kit Kat vans. Anyone else remember that one ? Cheers, Steve O.
  15. Hi Neil, Agree with all the other posts; great plan and looking forward to more. Cheers, Steve O.
  16. Hi Doug, Thanks for publishing the (extensive!) track plan. Can now "follow along at home" while watching the videos. Great stuff. Cheers, Steve O.
  17. Hi, So, as a Geordie... If I bought the Heljan green D2592 (mostly Hartlepool), would I be safe in a simple renumbering as D2594 (Gateshead, Dec 16th 1961 – Aug 23 1963)? Or are there significant build differences? Cheers, Steve O.
  18. Hello there, Is this the prototype? http://www.geograph.ie/photo/2338976 Cheers, Steve O.
  19. Hi, Digging around on www.old-maps.co.uk with co-ordinates of 506121, 164170 (or hopefully this link will work: http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html)... The post-WWII 1:2,500 map shows a long siding, then loop, then fork into two sidings, perpendicular to the quay. You may get more detail if you subscribe (I don't). Cheers, Steve.
  20. A little childish but... (79 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA)
  21. Steve O - when I click on the link it comes up "No Photo Available" - is that just my PC or has anybody seen them? ...sorry, made the post using my iPhone. Will check / correct tomorrow from the laptop. Cheers, Steve.
  22. Hi, Other ideas/photos from this thread: http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/68853-domestic-coal-wagons-coal-yards-in-the-80s/?fromsearch=1 Cheers, Steve.
  23. Hi Gents, The online Beamish Museum "People's Collection" may be worth a look (especially if you're local and can visit to see the photos not yet scanned). Here (if the link works) is a quick search on "South Pelaw". Some good "Stella Gill" items too. http://collections.beamish.org.uk/search-results?query=South+pelaw&go.x=-710&go.y=-200&searchType=everything&withPhotos=0&hiQuality=0 There are entries for South Pelaw Colliery and (I think) the level crossing survey mentioned above. Cheers, Steve O.
  24. Hi Timbersurf, That's a great layout plan. Took me a while to 'get it ' but it makes for a lot of action. Cheers, Steve.
  25. Just watched that episode! The loco has a belpaire firebox and smoke deflectors, and the brake van is an LNER (or even BR?) version. All in 1922...
