Supermarket shopping. Excellent.

Not at Tesco where I discovered they have a stupid £30 limit on ApplePay. A week or two back I did not have my card with me so when the Apple Pay on my Apple Watch would not work I made them reverse the checkout until it was under £30 and then do the second lot separately and then a third lot. The queue behind and the cashier were rather pi**ed off to say the least.

Just been chatting with friends.
Can the internet ever be 100% safe?

Listen please, the old software had security vulnerabilities and needed updating to this version. Work has been done to make it more like the old version than the out of the box version. I'm getting a bit fed up with some people criticising when they don't consider these aspects or read any of the relevant posts about what's going on. Many people have shown a lot of understanding but some just want to shout an opinion. Frankly, that doesn't help one scrap.

As a former computer graphics business owner who worked on a wide range of printed and web-based projects for many years, I can assure everyone that no-one will ever set about a project of this nature for the fun of it. This level of project is never undertaken lightly.
It involves a lot of hard work and a deal of frustration, sometimes stumbles a little on problems that are almost impossible to anticipate and is rarely to everyone's liking on Day One.
Stick with it for a while, make a bit of an effort to learn how it works and then, if you feel strongly about an existing feature or, would like to see a feature added, try making some constructive suggestions. There is a thread for this.

One has to wonder who decides what music to play while they keep you on hold....

Is travelling on one of the new GWR Hitachi trains to London. The first class seat isn't as nice as the model fitted in the HSTs. Shudder to think what standard class is like!

Yodel is just so incompetent it's beyond belief. Waited in all day yesterday for a returns pickup and they told the seller the parcel wasn't ready or wrapped for pickup, how would they know if they didn't even turn up.

Has anyone ever encountered a form of technology that was less user friendly than a supermarket diy checkout?

HMRC - VAT returns - What can you say? All sunbmissions done correctly weeks ago. Chasing gets answers like "maybe", "it should", "Yes, we know it's wrong but it should self correct", "Should sort itself out", "a glitch in the system", "We will do it urgently" still not done 4 weeks later.

Why would anyone ever want to conceptualise such aesthetic ambiguity?
