  1. Hi Ben, If that is scratchbuilt its a good effort. Are you aware of the Springside interior detailing kit, levers, clocks, bells and the like from Model signal engineering? cheers Peter
  2. Hi Ben, thanks for posting, I am in no way an expert on Highland boxes but it looks like a highland box to me,and very well put together, have you added an interior? I have only ever built 2 Highland boxes, one in 4mm ans the other 7mm and both the same box Kinloss which appear on this thread. cheers Peter
  3. Graeme-muz, thanks for posting up your box, I like the interior you have obviously put a lot of time into it. cheers. Thanks Mick for the atmospheric photos there and that tasty lattice post signal cheers.
  4. very nice photos Mick, crying out tio be modelled. This box is Ormskirk and in 4mm scale and has a full interior, the steps fit flush with platform tops.
  5. Hi all, hope Gilbert doesn't mind me posting this 3/4 shot of the water tank.
  6. on antibiotics again after this monings visit to the dentist, popeye lookalike :-(

  7. Hi Gilbert, But there is another building arriving on Sunday, the water tank which features greatly on photographs although most of it obsured but should merit some new photo scenes, I am temted to put a photo of it up but will leave it to Gilbert to be the first :-). The next delivery will then be the overall roof or should I say roof's as they are in two parts with an overtrack central walkway and of course the signage. cheers Peter
  8. Hi Mick, Some very nice signals there Mick, I particularly like the spectacular bracket in the centre :-) cheers Peter
  9. missed York again this year :-(

  10. Hi Thanks for the kind comments, Here is Carlisle No4 but with the fthe tops of the finials missing, this was obviously to go with the No5 box above and as shown also had an interior with the correctly positioned levers, I have added some close up shots which were kindly photographed by john Brighton.
  11. Carlisle No5 box, another blast from ther past. The signalbox was fitted out with a full interior and with the correctly positioned levers etc. sorry about the poor quality of the photo, its the only one I have.
  12. Wow, That,s quick Mick, and very nice to see your box on here, I particularly like the brick colouring, very convincing especially the lighter shaded area to the rear very good. The beutey of doing as you will as oposed to requirements. all tho I am more and more being left to my own devices of late which is very enjoyable. cheers Peter
  13. Hi Mick, I think you will agree its been a bit quiet on here lately, come on guys more signal boxes, I have the shakes :-) That building is just superb Mick and crying out to be modelled. Here is Pool west box in 4mm scale: constructed a few years ago, note the change in brick colour were the box was extended. cheers
  14. Some very atmospheric photos there Gilbert, I have noticed the signal box roof has come adrift, and the handrail wire bent slightly, i know it is easily done, like when i caught the finial :-) cheers Peter
  15. Hi Mick, Had a busy day today Southport and Mother in laws Mothers day and all that and returning home to find I have been logged in all day :-) Fantastic photos there Mick would make a super model, the nearest I have seen in model form of something slightly similar to that was Ken Ball's swing bridge in the Railway Modeller. cheers Peter
  16. Hi Yorki-pud, thanks for sharing those photos with us, i have a model of the latter somewere in the4 duldrums in 4mm scale,i am sure you would be very capable of constructing a box like those, its just technique , careful cutting with the correct tolls etc and can be learned by the majority of folks. i have had complete novices on my Architectural modelling courses at Hobby Holidays and you would be surprised at the results that can be achived with a little guidence. There is a signal box build series that i have posted on the thread which should be of some help, showing a blow by blow acount of the construction. cheers Peter
  17. Hi, You are correct re Pete Goss figures they are indeed very good quality. I think I am with Gilbert on this one,,were the figures need to be correctly posed perhaps seated, stood adjacent to something or someone and maybe not in mid sprint,i guess its a personal thing :-) A few years ago I commissioned Karen Rush of "Karen Rush ART Studios" I got her todo Eric Treacey in 4mm scale for Carlisle complete with tripod and I kid you not she produced a model of him to exacting likesness and had to be seen to be believed, he had all the facial features, expressions. he was to be standing on the Victoria rd bridge Carlisle taking a photo so he wouldn't be moving very much. I guess what I mean to say is that like with locomotives, buildings and the like you can also have state of the art figures to but at a price.:-) cheers Peter
  18. Hi Mick Thats nice and particularly intrigued by the locking room door, I mentioned to Gilbert ( Peterborough n ) on Sunday that his North box was the first Great Northern box I had constructed and the etches for the awning on your box I think are identical and had from you some time ago they look very fancy indeed. Very nice Mick cheers Peter
  19. Hi Mick, I have to say I do like the modelling stand, was that built from scratch, its very much like a beer can :-) The rear view of the box is very nice at least we can take photos of the rear of buildings as nobody else did in real life and why would they but for us who want to model all sides of a building we need such information. looking forward to more pics Mick and I particularly like the natural look of colour. cheers Peter
  20. Hi Andy, That is amazing, 'the roof' that's uncanny it certainly works better in black & white it makes the scene dated like a 50s period shot just brilliant. cheers Peter
  21. Hi Robin, great photos of a superb model, very neat modelling and I do like the night shots really looks convincing. thanks everyone for posting cheers Peter
  22. Hi, Gilbert I am glad the op was a success and that you are recovering well. Just a note of info folks and thanks for the favourable comments allways encouraging, with regard to some aspects of the model, Gilbert may have allready mentioned it earlier in the thread unknown to me.:-). The arcade wall runs flush with the outer island platform 6 wall but in the photos they are slightly uneven this is tempory to accomodate Gilberts roof mock up' the large building at the end of the rdside platform is also out of line for the same reason and this is obvious from the under roof shots, all the buildings are in line and flush when set up in the proper when the overall roof goes on. The photos look great Gilbert and some interesting backdrops. Someone mentioned drawings, they allways turn up after the build :-) lol Any questions with regard to the build please ask away. cheers Peter
  23. Hi Mick, back at work today, I do like the natural colour your box has it really does look real if you see what i mean, the natural light works a treet. cheers Peter
  24. John fitness, very nice, i like the iluminated signal arms. cheers Peter
