  1. Cath's Caff, business is thin, maybe it's the food poisoning?
  2. The stub end of the East London Line branch to Deptford. Now closed, track reclamation is taking place, girders will appear soon!
  3. Last three from Friday's photo session. This one; looking down O'Neill Terrace, the area suffered badly in the Blitz, the supports are shoring up the Excelsior Hotel and the docks lie behind the wall at the end. The bridge had extra girders added during the conflict
  4. Thanks for that, I hadn't seen any pics of industrials out on the mainline, I was really looking for an excuse to run something up from the River to S.G., probably the B4 in Corall guise. Speak soon!
  5. I do have a HAL, but it needs weathering down and a few detail parts, must get round to it. I also have a B4 which as far as I know didn't go any where near Deptford. Maybe you or someone could answer this question; In the North East where i grew up it was common to see NCB lococ plated by the railway executive running on BR lines or making excursions on to them, did anything similar happen on the North Kent Line or on the estuary. I always thought not as their slow speed would not fit into the running of 'fast electrics'. Many Thanks!
  6. Well I have an EPB which does 'The Charing Cross shuttle, but I rather like BILs and NOLs and so for my own delight run them up and down!
  7. https://www.flickr.com/photos/irishswissernie/38133300731/in/album-72157665810570739/ ex PO wagon behind upper left at Hallbankgate 1951(?)
  8. I have today completed the girders for under the Cable Street bridge! Pics to follow, then will do lead flashing on the Station hut. I wanted to display the movements (timetable is too grand a word) just in case anyone is interested in what's going on. Doubtful as usually folks only spend a few minutes in front of a layout. I've gone for this; produce a slide on Powerpoint, keep it brief, save it as JPEG, run them on electronic photo frame using a remote control so it can be advanced when ready. Examples below. Any ideas or comments would be really welcome
  9. Exchange traffic often had ex-PO wagons in the consist
  10. Our photographer has had a cold and unproductive walk around South Gallions. It looks like a fog is coming in with the tide on the London River. Started getting up to speed for the Workington Exhibition 20/21st Nov. at Energus CA14 4JW
  11. Do you know a good source of trolley poles? Cheers Ian
  12. Yep Arrowhead was trolley only and as you say lost it's passenger service early on. Freight for Arrowhead water ran for a while longer with trolley fitted diesels, I was thinking of something similar, but different drawing inspiration from your modelling of the YVTC. There are quite a few snaps of PER diesels on line https://www.trains.com/ctr/railroads/fallen-flags/remembering-pacific-electric-railway-locomotives/ I will post some pics of my megre range of stock soon Cheers Ian B
  13. Hope to see you there next month, (I'll be the miserable one)
  14. Thanks for all the replies, I think I have created a monster. I'm guessing the short answer to my question is 'No' I've always had a soft spot for the Arrowhead branch of the Pacific Electric and wanted to build something similar, not necessarily P.E.R. Looking at my stock I have an interurban car (Pantograph), Juice Jack (Trolley) and a Box Cab (Pantograph) I was kind or wondering if I could run them without any modifications, But I guess I will have to put a panto on the Juice Jack as per North Sacramento. I won't be doing anything soon as I have Hallbankgate to finish and South Gallions to prepare for Workington show in November. Thanks guys! Ian B
  15. Hi All, a question, is it possible for pantographs/trolley poles to operate on the same wire, or were the wires different? Any examples of them both on a railroad/interurban? As always many thanks Ian B
  16. No 14 runs light up the grade from St. Hilda to Westoe Shed
  17. A rare shot of a Met Cam MLV running from South Shields to Sunderland via the coast
  18. EPB is running from the berthing sidings at Marine Park to South Shields to make up a stopper for The Toon
  19. ES1 at work, firstly taking freight down to Wapping Street Riverside, the trip involves a reversal so the loco is at the rear of the train going down the gradient. Secondly, earlier in the day the ES1 delivers the J77 to the riverside.
  20. Jury is out. Comparing with Dave Alexander kit, that smoke box door looks too flat. Having said that, the rest of it is fine, some weathering will probably 'bring out' the smoke box etc.
