  1. A very rare occurrence, a new loco for Tynebank; Gateshead N10 69109. A big thanks to my good friend Charlie Miller for building it for me. It has one of my last Portescap motors, only three left now. It will be earning it's keep at Birtley on 4th 5th March
  2. The GPS on the Lambton tank is obviously not working. In truth it's one of six Dapol ones I've had in the draw for about 25 years now. Runs perfectly. The other snap compares the size of No 2 with a 20 tonner
  3. I'm not sure how I'm going to explain away a Lambton tank on the Harton system. I will stretch the OLE in due course.
  4. Well Mr Watts is entitles to his opinion, but I found Dock Street and this layout very inspirational especially for those of us which have limited space Ian B
  5. A.W. moving traffic for Velva Liquids. An excellent runner, I think it was one of the first ones Chris sold.
  6. Thanks Steve, I will give them a go, I've always steered clear of lamps as they all looked over scale and i'd rather leave them off, I know that would cause apoplexy for some folk! Also I don't like using model figures I can't reconcile their frozen attitudes. Hope you are well and looking forward to more posts about Finsbury.
  7. You are very kind, but modelling to a deadline does my napper in, I don't mind so much if I've been out with one before, but new ones ... I will meet my commitments for this year Birtley with Tynebank, Newcastle with South Gallions and us with Hallbankgate, then that's it, much prefer organising.
  8. Well, that's the last of the locos finished, just need to tone down those chunks of whitemetal which I am trying to pass off as Lamps. Anyone tried the Modelu ones?
  9. Something's finished, at least they can kill the weeds
  10. I just don't think I am going to get this finished the way I want it for Birtley. In fact there are times when I want to give up the hobby; this is one. Deffo NO MORE exhibitions!
  11. The pictures look better than the real thing, also I have to get it out the room! (at Birtley I'm the .bald miserable one)
  12. It's been a while since I have done anything with Tarnhouse, as getting Tynebank exhibition ready has taken up most of my modelling time, but here's a snap of No. 6 helping out on TB taking traffic down to Tyne Dock Engineering, via the Riverside. It should of course have it's plate on display for running on BR metals.
  13. Naworth No.6 from my Tarnhouse layout is having a spin hauling traffic for Tyne Dock Engineering. My 'to do' list for Birtley Exhibition is getting smaller. I will have to go with a much reduced operating sequence than I use at home, due to the amount of stock and also somewhere to put it during the exhibition
  14. English Electric with traffic for Velva Liquids. Getting this layout exhibition ready was time consuming. but all done now. Note to self NEVER accept anymore invites! I had forgotten how unenjoyable exhibiting can be.
  15. I wonder if my Alexander J27 body will fit on the Oxford Chassis? Anyone tried this yet? Answers on a postcard.
  16. The Snapper gets the peg to depart with express fish. No 14 rattles past with another load of coal bound for the London river. Examples of two commodities for our nations capital.
  17. 68693 on pilot duties, another misty day on the East Coast
  18. Testing out the new signals, Q6 has a clear calling on enabling the mineral shunt to proceed. The J72 simmers on the Riverside exchange road. I thought I'd just about finished the layout, but of course it's nowhere near, hope I get most of it done my March for Birtley. The signal is an unusual arrangement, but based on one in Mick Nicholson's excellent book.
  19. Thank-you I hope to see you in March at Birtley.
  20. Here is a snap of some of the block bogies and the water tank that I built using T.I.C. drawings. I also built the cement wagon, I have a snap of it somewhere!
  21. There was, almost a twin to the North Pier. There are photos of it on line. I did photograph the North one and also the blockyard at the Haven
