  1. The harsh comment was directed at the current nrm management and not those who allowed the hardworking volunteers to return 55002 to mainline running.
  2. I wouldn’t get hung up about supporting the NRM they couldn’t give a stuff about their Deltic anyway, better to buy from Rails or the DPS.
  3. What about doing 55017 with its post accident nose minus centre footstep and oversized headcodes boxes which also appeared on 55012 and 55019.
  4. Going to try a sample wall section using York Model Making doors and slaters brickcard hand paint etc and see what happens!
  5. I know the majority of O gauge modellers model steam however diesels that span the steam to modern era generally do well ie. Class 20’s, 40’s, etc. so I hope it makes business sense to do a sensibly priced Deltic and by that I mean not in the £2000 plus display case bracket but somewhere in the £750 to £1000 area. Laurie Loveless came close a few years ago but the price was too high for general appeal and the model had too many errors. I doubt it Heljan would have another go but if a definitive O gauge model came out it may have the similar appeal this one is showing. Well done Accurascale anyway for the 4mm masterpiece about to put right a long over due model.
  6. I had been inspired by the station building to do something similar in 4mm, it just shows what can be achieved. Thanks for the info.
  7. What scale is High Wycombe station, I cant see it mentioned.
  8. First one ordered. BR Blue 1981 condition, 55011. Thought I would go for one of the less glamorous ones first, can’t wait to put those faded streaks down the side of the nose ends. How good are these going to look with the Bachmann mk 2f’s.
  9. The frames did stay relatively straight but some issues were made worse when the locos were reskinned in preservation. 55019 has an approximate 100mm sag in the centre due to the reskinning being done without correct ballasting being in place in the engine room. The problem could be overcome by reskinning again as the issue may be a factor if mainline running was considered again due to gauge limits. I’m just pleased they didn’t scan 19 it would have needed tweaking lol.
  10. Don’t worry Fran I’ve slept on it and I’m sold on it whatever solution you propose. Just one cheeky request - don’t forget the O gauge modellers hint hint!
  11. It won’t work anyway my oo gauge one need a new chassis and I still haven’t been arsed to change it lol. Very prototypical.
  12. Nice! Better than forking out for the MM1 kit which I’m pleased I haven’t done.
  13. Late 2019 and early 2020 is going to be bl..dy expensive if you like modern o gauge.
  14. Is this the next model for release by Heljan after the recent 25/3 or does the 03’s come next?
  15. Yes it was, I saw them at Sheffield station on Friday also whistling away happily, very dirty they look great.
  16. Parked my car in Selby station yesterday to be treated to the sound,of 2 Class 20’s heading towards Hull, sounded great then heard them thrash in the distance. Not really my era this stuff but these trains are really cool amongst today’s dull railway.
  17. And you didn’t have to pay postage so some moron could throw it around for a couple of days.
  18. Worth trying that, good idea might swop some later and post pic.
  19. It’s the height difference between the mk1 stock that’s bugging me, it looks ridiculous. More modifications to put something right, I had a look at the mk1 bogie and some major hacking required to lower it.
  20. Yes I used the frame as a guide, it does take a little getting used to but worked for me. I tried the backlit ones but preferred the ordinary headcodes.
  21. Don’t worry Heljan aren’t the only ones who can’t get headcodes right, Laurie Loveless made a similar mess of the Deltics. I do like precision labels though they are correct and you can decide how much of a letter or number you have on show. I’ll post some pics if you want. Getting them right changes the look of the model.
  22. Yes agreed the deltic sits too high. Anyone got any easy fixes for this, I tried bringing the mk2 up in height with a washer but it looks silly. Not sure how to bring the mk1 down.
