  1. You would have thought so but Chris Leigh has fitted the one to his in this months MR and in the photo you can make out the piece he's cut.Bachmann should have supplied one without the nem pocket,it would have been much neater.Perhaps its an assembly error on China's part. How many modellers will run Truro tender first !
  2. Had a quick look for you and the only detail difference that I see is 'Defiant' had/has exposed rear sanding gear/pipes.The model has them correctly for 'Earl Cairns' hidden.
  3. That sounds promising. Will you be changing its idendity.
  4. Thanks John.Very nice. Are there any bits to add to the model in the box and whats the haulage capacity. Is the coad load removeable like the Grange ? Sorry for all the questions !
  5. I have a photo Mike of 5053 at Old Oak in 1953.I think you are right you know.I never knew that.
  6. Mike. What did you mean by the nameplate curvature as it looks ok to me.
  7. You 'll have to 'pluck' up the courage to model that.... Wheres my coat........
  8. Of course I'm talking about 5043 Earl of Mount Edgecombe not 5053 Earl Cairns as depicted in the new Hornby model on Hattons website.
  9. Did you know thats the only Castle to share its name with a volcano and a 0-6-2T !
  10. Lets hope the backhead detail is as good this.It don't get any better. :icon_drool: :icon_drool: http://www.masterpiecemodels.co.uk/gallery.php
  11. Mikkel.I really enjoy your storytelling.Did you know that Charles Dickens was a director of the GWR ?
  12. John.Any chance of some photos and a review over/after the Christmas period for those of us waiting for the GW version plase.
  13. [quote name='Peter Bedding' date='23 December 2009 - 12:19 ' timestamp='1261570740' post='50394' If Messrs Bachmann or Hornby were to produce one to today's state-of-art, with some matching Edwardian-era coaches, I would succumb to temptation yet again. PB Your'e not the only one.Beautiful. :icon_thumbsup2:
  14. quote name='dseagull' date='21 December 2009 - 19:28 ' timestamp='1261423720' post='49209'] Also; When Nottingham Forest won the European Cup, they had won the League the season before. It didn't happen out of nowhere. Clough built a wonderful team - and, shock horror, he spent money (first Million pound footballer in Trevor Francis) to do it. Absolutely ! They had a genius for a manager. That feat wouldn't be possible in todays football climate.Taking a second division team to European champions when if you lost you were out.
  15. I'll be hearing next that Mark Hughes is being sacked. Being sixth in the league and in the Carling cup semi isn't good enough.Like Chelsea they [the club] lack class....
  16. Thats an excellent service all round Keith. You might get your new one Tuesday.
  17. Its surely going to be Lode Star.It makes sense.2010 the year of the GWR....
  18. Perhaps just a light dusting.
  19. That front coupling has got to go.
  20. Quite agree but I think circumstances dictated last nights winner.Less people were watching due to Mr Cowells final on ITV and maybe all United/Wales fans voted for Giggs to give him the advantage.I think Button should have got it just for the Brawn fairytale.
  21. Fergie's moaning about time added on now.It should be taken out of the refs control.Perhaps there needs to be a new rule that states that play continues till United score or given a penalty at the Stretford end which ever comes first.
  22. I rather Lampard missed a penalty for Chelsea than for England in a world cup quarter final anyday.
  23. I think so Jim.There was no official announcemment on them doing it.So whats next ? Lode Star
  24. Me I'm a bit stretched for funds, but am debating with myself whether the kids really do need christmas presents this year . Go on then, be a bad Santa Mikkel.
  25. You could always come out of retirement to paint some coaches to pay for it.
