I'm on holiday in the Greek islands so no modelling for me. Plenty of other fun though. I do keep running an idea for a Greek island model railway round my head though. HO German equipment left behind after the war based around the main port on a small island. Freight, tourists, tavernas. Maybe a castle and a church and some Venetian architecture. My wife thinks i should finish the two layouts I've started.....I'm just wondering about sources of 3.5mm cats.....

Here's a question for you GWR experts. PECO make a 7mm scale steel open which is a PWay vehicle. A steel open would make a nice change from wooden ones, so here's my question. Is there a general merchandise version I could make from the same kit? http://www.gaugemaster.com/item_details.asp?code=PEW-605&style=&strType=&Mcode=Peco+W-605 Thanks CP

More good service, this time from MSC Models. Motor, gearbox and flywheel arrived today. That's the last piece off the jigsaw really. Kit £335 Wheels and pickups £145 Motor and gearbox £125 Nameplates £5. Total cost £610. Better not mess it up, eh?

Smashing service from Narrow Planet the plates arrived today. They are actually the Selsey Tram plates which were worn by a tank loco (I knew that) They need repainting because of that as the suitable background colour for my needs is red.

My focus ring(s) are all too sloppy to move by such a small amount. Fortunately I don't do a lot of model photography otherwise I'd probably have to upgrade my equipment
-
Simply a matter of how small an adjustment I can physically make on the focussing ring. There's no computerised focussing on my camera.

The loce will be finished KESR style in Ultramarine blue with red lining and carry plates for "Hesperus" which i have ordered from Narrow Planet (stock item not special order)

Laurie was kind enough to apologise for the long wait I had for the kit with a few detailing freebies
-
The decision was made a while back and after a wait I now have the kit for my first 7mm loco build - the ex-LSWR Ilfracombe goods. Management of expectations alert : I won't be making a start till July and then I will be taking my time! Anyhow in the meantime here's what I got for my money. Kit from Laurie Griffin, wheels and pickups from Slaters and motor/gearbox awaited from MSC Models.

Interesting Kevin, thanks. Is there a setting on your camera that enables the 69 different focus positions? I have tried some focus stacking with decent results but I can only focus my SLR manually which realistically limits me to about 6 frames from near to infinity.
