  1. Don't know that this is proof they read forums?............ their blog yes.
  2. There was a RTC layout in BRM (I think) a few months ago. Very nice it was too !
  3. I see all of your points and they are valid, perhaps moaning was the wrong word to use. From my perspective I guess I am not a serious modeller I like putting together kit buildings don;t think I could tackle making a locomotive much less paint and decal one ! In my eyes people that are unhappy with the wheels (in this case) to me it is such a small detail and that these modellers wouldn't buy this type of model anyway and would be part of the crew that would be making it from a kit. If the majority of the modellers are happy with the loco as is and others are going to switch wheels to P4 or EM i don't see it to really be a problem. I think what needs to be address more is items not being fit for purpose ! Far more frustrating than some wheels being incorrect.
  4. If the models are not accurately made when they are released then the best way to show our disappointment is to not buy them and maybe they would learn. To be honest, as has been said previously by other posters I am also no expert as I would not know about the wheels nor do I live to that level of correctness. I would buy it because over all it looks nice despite it not being 100% accurate and lets face it what RTR ever is or has been? With the exception of one or two smaller manufacturers there is no communication between manufacturers on here and to be honest I never expect there to be. It is a bonus when Rapido or DJModels posts and engages with the members. Just my 2 cents...........
  5. So have you finished the new one yet?
  6. Just my opinion but I wish people would just wait until it is released before they start moaning. It is happening more and more with every release. I understand the need to help the manufacturer to get it right but moaning about it on the forum is probably not likely to help all that much.
  7. Does it though? My ViTrains is running minus a traction tyre or am I unintentionally causing damage to it?
  8. Nice looking pub, how was it to build? I had heard that it isn't the best model to begin with.
  9. Guess I will have to suffer through the harsh Canadian winters until it is released
  10. Rails has a really good close up of the wheels https://railsofsheffield.com/lner-4-6-0-kilverstone-hall-b17-class-locomotive-2842-JJJA29967.aspx
  11. My Vitrains 37 has been running for a while now without its traction tyre, unintentional as TBO I didn't realize it had any in the first place. Seems to run fine and can't say I have had any problems with it.
  12. This any good? http://www.hattons.co.uk/13315/Peco_Products_LK_51_Level_Crossing_Barriers_with_fencing_x_2/StockDetail.aspx or this http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/Servo_Operated_Signal_and_Crossing_Barrier_Units.html http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/Level__Crossing_Barrier_Warning.html
  13. Are traction tires really that bad though? especially in this scenario. I imagine that for most it will be a novelty and is hardly likely to go whizzing around and around on the mainlines.
  14. What a great idea using the platform canopies as the station roof. Most ingenious !!
  15. So I emailed Hattons (my earlier post was more of a statement than a question however) The reply :- Thank you for your email. We are offering a DCC fitting service on the 32-993 Type 27 Wickham Trolley and trailer. The cost would be £28.00 to supply and fit the decoder.
  16. Hattons are offering to DCC these, wonder how they will go about it or is it a template and will be removed from the website when they arrive into stock.
  17. Depends on how you look at things I guess. Deans hasn't been released either. Of the Radials I would go with Oxford as at least it is fit for DCC. as for the LNER wagon, I think it is a minor niggle. Just my opinion.
  18. How do you know they are railroad standard, they haven't even been released yet!
  19. Is this what you are referring to? From Wiki :- Although all auxiliary equipment such as lighting, air conditioning and air compressors was powered by motor alternators driven from the 25 kV overhead line, it was recognised that if there were a power failure, conditions in the passenger vehicles would quickly become unbearable and even unsafe. Each driving van trailer i.e. the leading and trailing vehicles, was equipped with a diesel-alternator generator capable of supplying the minimum requirement of auxiliary power. The diesel-alternators were started using air motors powered from the train's air system, since the APT carried few batteries.
  20. Photos look great, what about these as a farmer figure? http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/montys/MLV19.php http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/montys/MLV11.php http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/montys/MCV22.php http://www.dartcastings.co.uk/montys/MCV21.php
  21. That would be Dean park Station ( can be found on Youtube) Much more impressive when you see it on Youtube, great channel and shows a lot of promise.
  22. Thank you for the information, no need for me to buy this then as it is the wrong colour
  23. Thanks, so it was never blue in preservation? Just labeled as such as it is the preserved loco?
  24. Can anyone tell me what era the blue BIL (as preserved at the NRM) is from?
