  1. Is it still planned to go 'live' for the RAT on the web site today? I resisted the temptation to call!
  2. Thanks for the update Ian, which I have downloaded. Would you be so kind as to let us know where in the doc the changes are so I can mark up the original (already printed). Dave
  3. Hi Rob Just wondering if I should order some right facing lions to correct this mistake. Thought I would have a look at Yeadons, and found photographs on pages 17 and 21 for 60505 depicting both sides with forward facing lions. How dare I even contemplate Yeadons got it wrong! David
  4. Rob Thanks for the detail provided so far. It will be great to see just how the paint job and new lining will improve the appearance. Will you be hand painting or airbrushing the BR Brunswick green? David
  5. Following the successful Autumn 2020 Missenden Abbey Virtual Event, another Event will be held this Spring on 6th and 7th March. For more information - here is a link: https://www.missendenrailwaymodellers.org.uk/index.php/spring-2021-virtual-event-plans/ A wide range of topics will be covered, including 4 live events (via Zoom which require registration). An article covering the M & GNR bridge building for Little Bytham is just one of those included. David
  6. Hello Richard Which two megabase speakers (4 ohm or the larger 8 ohm in parallel) and a clue on where were they fitted (before I get the bdy off). Also wondering if you have added the starter motor if that was included on the kestrel.
  7. Thanks. Even nearly 2 years later! Just shows how useful this web site is when you need a clue on what turned out to be a relatively easy cab removal. The glazing had popped out but planning to fit directional and cab lights to a pair of Class 20's. Of course I ordered the lighting kits 1 day before Bachmann announced the new 20's (with lighting). David
  8. Ordered Genesis coaches from Hattons last week. Well done to them for being upfront about their plans. Sorry Hornby, but the perhaps secrecy is not always the best strategy for a major manufacurer..
  9. This upgrade was done quite some time ago to overcome the original pick-up issues. I did not keep upwith this thread (until today) and I never did get the mod's done to my original 40 (with the gross problem especially with sound). As Bachmann have done the mod'n has anyone considered replacing the bogies complete with the new pickup design. Will Bachmann have spares for this?
  10. I'm interested to know when you purchased the kit. I have had a number of these on pre-order from mousa models since Feb 18 but alas no sign of them being available in the near future Dave
  11. Alas, they are the later plate bogie design with roller bearings
  12. John Do you know if ModelU could do a 3D print of the outer part of the older plate bogie if the the type we need could be scanned? Dave
  13. John Yes, I have just recently seen the new transfers thanks. I am backdating the hoppers 4A which still have the ICI letters. With them being unweathered and I plan to convert to preTOPS, then there are quite a few extras needed as they will be lightly weathered. The names on the axle box covers for example. The plan is to use existing hoppers (older versions which I also have ) to generate the new transfers. I will let you know how I get on as something new for me. Dave Dave
  14. Hi John Just catching up with this thread. I see you have been busy with backdating the hoppers. I started this last year with just 3 hoppers but alas did not get too far. I was also looking for the axle box cover plates but had no luck. As I was back dating unweathered TOPS versions the plan was to remove all of the TOPS marking and fit name plates as per the earler versions and add new numbering. This would be my first attempt at making my own transfers. A last resort as I usually get transfers from your goodself! If only there were spare plate bogies (of the ealier design) available, then back dating of the TOPS wagons would be so much easier, especially as these seem more readily available. Dave
  15. Note that the shelves have been subsequently been replaced with 6mm thickness acrylic as the 3mm exhibited some bending due to creep over time. Now OK. Dave
  16. Sorted! If you do this it is important to view the file extension in Windows Explorer so that the .txt file extension is changed. This will give a file name of vers.req (not vers.req.txt)
  17. Having recently acquired a Canon Powershot G12, I was curious about the number of actuations (shots) taken with this camera. I looked on line at the U-tube video of how to do this. Although that is a G11, I would expect the same method. Formatted an SD card on PC then added text file vers.req In camera, switched on power, turned to playback and 'No Image' on screen Pressed disp and Func Set button in centre of function mode dial together BUT no response. Guess I might have missed something? Help would be appreciated Dave
  18. Hi Tony I was pleased to see an old friend ('the bridge') in BRM this month. Dave
  19. Realistic loads for Hattons hoppers often come up on ebay: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Realistic-OO-Hattons-ICI-Hopper-Wagons-8-X-LIMESTONE-LOADS-Peak-Forest/133466805436?hash=item1f133dd4bc:g:0CcAAOSwHGxdPw1o Dave

  21. Andy I agree with so many that you should be congratulated for putting the show together when we were all getting show withdrawl issues. I very much enjoyed it and perhaps even though we will hopefully be able to travel to shows in the future, why not have a virtual show every year. This would be great for those that cannot travel and over two days there is lots of time and opportunity to indulge. Donations optional? It would also be great if some of the U-tube videos remained available for further use / learning. In particular I have already found the remote control adaption of road vehicles but is your photo shop (training) going to be available. It was very well done - thanks. Cheers Dave W
  22. Good Morning Tony I had posted pictures of bridge abuttments ealier during this lockdown period. Since then , I have a bash at my first wagon builds from etched kits. Thankfully much was learnt from working on your bridge. The Palbrick B kits are by Ian MacDonald and they are very well designed making it fairly straightforward for the beginner. Sorry about the kitchen test track. Used on tighter than planned track to check buffer spacing. You will see that I have used Masokits screw link couplings and Smiths hooks. On checking the buffer clearance it gave the opportunity for even closer running with the layout track intended. So I have made up the Masokits draw bar hooks which are closer to scale dimensions so closing the gap further. However the length of the hook allows only 3mm for a spring compared with 8mm compressed length for the Smiths. Where on earth to get a spring with the equivalent same rating? Any help on the subject of a working draw bar would be helpful. What should be the rating for example. To give the same rating as the Smiths I need a smaller spring with a smaller wire gauge. On a another subject - I enjoyed the virtual show yesterday and looking forward to your demo today. Dave W
  23. OO gauge X 76. Ee Bah Gum - thems were the days
  24. John and Compound2632, thanks for the superfast response - I am truly impressed! Cheers
