  1. Isn't there already a Gem kit, which is currently available - an a Branchlines chassis to go with it, come to think of it.
  2. Scale Link do some nice castings for posts in N scale - not sure about 4mm scale though.
  3. One valid reason might be to build flat bottomed track - especially the concrete sleepered variety. I didn't think Wayne was doing that?
  4. I like the black track plan on the floor. Is that for a roundhouse? Seriously, very nice work.
  5. I agree it looks a lot better. What did you use for the tinting, please?
  6. I just looked at the batch that arrived by post this morning
  7. 2P-005-320, MK 3 FIRST GREAT WESTERN 1st CLASS #41133 HST - Letter H 2P-005-330, MK 3 FIRST GREAT WESTERN 2nd CLASS #42261 HST - Letter B 2P-005-331, MK 3 FIRST GREAT WESTERN 2nd CLASS #42280 HST - Letter E We have 2 with the letter E and the same for G, if you include the one that comes with the power units. C is missing altogether.
  8. Your photos really are absolutely superb. Great composition in every one!
  9. Has anyone actually been lynched at a model railway show, or are we all worrying unnecessarily?
  10. Some new Millers Dale photos on the RCTS Mystery Photos site today http://rcts.org.uk/features/mysteryphotos/index.htm#Y-31-06A
  11. No lock on the door Seriously, fantastic modelling!
  12. Fred walks into a pub and sees a man at the bar wildly drinking, womanising, swearing, telling dirty jokes and generally having a good time. 'Scuse me, Fred says - you look awfully like the vicar from the next town. I'm sure I saw you doing a funeral there last Friday? Not me, the man says - that was my altar ego.
  13. Why not just go for #7s instead of #6 and #8s? Having built a few larger angled points in OO, the running gets a bit bumpy the larger the angle, because the gaps in the running rail are that much longer. Can also lead to problems with diamonds and slips, as stock can wander down the wrong road more easily.
  14. The difference in price is a significant factor, but the pleasure of enjoying the use of the model from its initial release is something I would miss - not to mention the ulcers I might get worrying about if the loco would ever be discounted and whether the one I wanted in a particular livery would still be available. Peace of mind has its price!
  15. Looks really nice! Nitpicking though, I would suggest that the loco ought to have foldable gangway doors once fitted with headcode boxes See http://www.railphotoprints.co.uk/index/detail/1812/D6309-StBlazey-250969-RP175.jpg.html Also, I fear the Woodhead loco transfers are rather on the small side. Lets hope it never rains in St Ruth, or you might also need windscreen wipers! Nitpicking, as I said. It's your model and you build it how you like. To most eyes it looks brilliant just as it is, as testified by all the comments above!

    Class 26

Those cab side windows look very small compared to the real thing. see http://www.martinbray-ukloco.com/images/class26-27/26021-eastfielddepot-230592.jpg for example The windows should be almost as deep as the windscreen - the model is nothing like that in my opinion. If the photo on Facebook is a production model, then I won't be buying any.
