Oh and up by Moles/The Porter there used to be a second hand shop crammed full of trains. Unfortunately I only went in there the once before it shut ☹️

I remember when the trains moved to, now what is Moss, in Lower Borough Walls/St James Parade (depending upon the angle of attack). Then it all moved up to the Golden Cot (?) and we were left with The Modeller's Den, now that's long gone. Any retail therapy needs to be carried out in either Midsomer Norton (Signals) or in Frome, at the mighty, mighty Frome Model Centre.
Bath does need a model shop but the extortionate rents mean that's not going to happen any time soon ☹️

I have just been advised by the printers that delivery should take place on January 19th. Books will be sent out as soon as stock arrives. Thank you for your patience!
Are you underwater or did you manage to launch the lifeboats in time ?

The SW Circle may have drawings for the TT at 'combe. Even if they're not right for your current TT they'll give the general layout and you should be able to resize to suit.

Looking for suggestions as how to build all the lattice outriggers.
Gosh, I'd say they'd need to be milled brass all soldered together nicely, or possibly (and if you can) draw up an etch??? I don't think styrene etc would last long tbh.
Good luck 🤞

I am happy to report that the first print run of the book has sold through and a reprint is currently in production. Stock should be available from the middle of January.
It has a number of (very minor) corrections and some small grammatical "improvements", and also a new picture showing the late Gordon Dando looking very dashing with his bike outside Monkton Combe (Titfield) Station during a lull in filming.
For purchasers of the first print, here is the additional picture. It has been very kindly made available to me by Gordon Dando's family, to whom I am very grateful. It has already appeared on a Titfield Facebook page, but if anyone wishes to share it from here then please credit the source to the family of the late Gordon Dando.
It appears on the bottom of page 71 in the reprinted book.

This isn't going to be like Windows is it?
Mind you, if the definitive work on the Titfield Thunderbolt was perfect, you wouldn't be trying to flog us an updated version every year or so!

Merry Christmas

Top stuff, I can see Haydon and the top of the incline from my porch, over the valley in Southfield 👍

but the village seems were very old England and delightful .
It hasn't changed much. I say "it", the villages of Monkton Combe and Limpley Stoke were the locations for Titfield, Wallingford being Bristol (Temple Meads). Having lived within a mile of Titfield for nearly 20 years, I find it fascinating to see the difference (or not) in the locality. Each view produces something different, this time a view of Midford signal box, which I've missed before.
Top stuff!

Plus I very much suspect that beating the Plod in court will lead to them "remembering"........random stops n' all that..
I understand in the UK, if calibration cannot be proven then the judge would most likely throw the case out of court, as the accuracy of the (alleged) speed cannot be proven without doubt.
I wouldn't fancy my chances personally but as a pedestrian I don't need to worry too much 🤞

You should ask them to produce that in court 😉

The Titfield Thunderbolt which was on TV this afternoon. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it.
Me too, but having lived less than a mile from Titfield I like to see how things have changed in the last 70 years since it was made. I noticed a particular view of Midford signal box that I hadn't noticed in previous views.
Midsomer Norton is my home town and I hope all is well with your aunt ❤️

The theory is the greater the height a rocket up the a**e falls from the more effective it is. It sometimes doesn't work which indicates to me that the problem lies within the upper reaches of the company hierarchy and that it is a company best avoided.
I used a similar 'service' to complain to DPD, I didn't get my money back but I did get my parcel delivered instead of having to go to the post office in the next town to collect it. The reason being, the driver couldn't find my address, despite having photos and a "what III words" location available for them to see in my delivery details. 🤔🙄
The hand is somewhat smarting today with clicky joints in my fingers. I hope it's just the healing process and not another 🐓-up 🤕

Just back from the doctors after having a cortisone (steroid?) injection in my hand. Since changing jobs in March I've developed trigger finger in my left hand for some unknown reason, what with me being right handed. Various physios and doctors are a bit puzzled but then they read my notes and soon realise they're in Radstock and I'm a bit special 🤔
I don't know if I'm making it up but I have less pain already, 30 minutes after the stab?

Just given porch tomato a trim, feed and moved 'im against the house.
Porch chilli is now kitchen window chilli. They're not particularly pokey on their own but en masse they work their magic 😬
It must be the "special" light of Radvegas 🤔

Of course, but a little before my time ☺️. It's sort of still there, in that there's a shop selling cameras in that shop. I think it's London Camera Exchange these days 🤷
We had a a "Pram &Toy Shop" in Midsomer Norton when I were a lad (now an Entertainer), wonder if they were related?
