Now Dapol are revisiting it.
Revising more like 😜
I can't find the article now, but I think it was by Aiden Campbell, when he described colour scaling for model makers.
Ah, here it be...

Hi,
Have you considered a SR Bulleid Wagon or a SR Engineers’ wagon?
Thanks Fred

Absolutely mate. I'm in the middle of a "health scare" ATM, just waiting for test results. I've been off work with a dodgy back too (this has been quite difficult as I didn't disclose my back condition to my new employer when I started, as I was supposed too but I was desperate to leave my last job with honour... or not get sacked for too much sickness) but this has given me the opportunity to get my toys out and get on with some stickin' & gluin' , so all good.

Presumably those of us who would prefer to support a model shop and order our items from there, can do so, provided said model shop is an Accurascale stockist?
I agree, I'd like to support a stockist please.

I note the avoidance of the word locomotive. Fingers crossed for a DMU...?I could be tempted by such a modern contraption, WR allocated of course.

This could explain the queue of people begging Roger Sawyer to flick liquid flux in their eyes over on the soldering demo stand.

Using that as a replacement for the piers will also make the underfloor void a haven for rats, reduce through ventilation thus increasing dampness of the floor timbers, and so would be unlikely to be used for a number of practical reasons.
I'm sure I have seen it on the prototype* which was where my thinking came from. I don't think it actually was a pre-fab concrete store of this kind but a similar building on the prototype. It was my understanding that the gaps in the brickwork aided, not abated, airflow under the floor 🤷 If you look through Southern Nouveau, there are several of these stores, and similar, with solid (no air gaps) infill between the piers.
*Possibly one of the trader's stores at Sidmouth? I will have to look through my library and find it.

Both the Airfix 14xx and Auto-coach passed through the ownership of Dapol en-route to Hornby.
I had a tough choice as a kid, the Modeller's Den in Baff had both the GMR 14XX AND the 61XX for £8 each! Of course my OCD caused me to use my decision making device (a coin) and the 61XX won the day. I later made amends and got an Airfix 14XX from Modelfair (what happened to them?).
Of course as soon as I'd looked at it the wheels on the 61XX disintegrated into mush. I still have it but it's a lost cause now.

But how many would pay over just keeping their older ones?
I would, mine needs re-wheeling, so cash allocated for the pair of G6's I'm after (😬🤔😜) could be transferred to the 14XX project for one.

Thanks for all the suggestions and top tips guys, the idea is for a wall of these to go under the 4mm ratio provender store, either in between the building's legs or as a part of or a complete replacement for those supplied with the kit.
Cheers, Dubs.

After scouring architectural model making pages, I've come to conclusion that what is needed is microstrip and diazepam 😬 (or etching).

I could be tempted by a new one of those little GWR thingies to replace the Airfix jobbie I have that needs re-wheeling 🤔
