Smart move, frankly....
Yes, after studying the sprues and looking at the real things in the "Southern Nouveau" book, I've come to the same conclusion.
I'm looking at something like gapped brickwork (no idea what it's called but I've asked the question in another post on here).

Flemish bond
Thanks but it's not that one. The white parts in the illustration are gaps in the brickwork to allow air to flow through. Should have explained that better.👍

Me again...
Can anyone identify the name of the brick Bond on the illustration below?
... and does any manufacturer make this in plastic?
Those of you that have seen my other recent question might know where I'm going with this 😁
Cheers, Dubs 👍

Anyone know what the prototype for the S&D building is, I don't recognise it at all?
Passengers in the mk1's is a nice touch.

Wonder if those new 31s are easily converted to EM/P4. Its just that to my eye the bogie frames look quite inset.....
That could be the deal breaker between these and the @Accurascale 30/31's 🤔

Considering a kit is now something like £20, that's damn good value. If all else fails it's certainly an option.
Thanks

Evening guys, just contemplating starting the ratio provender store I've been scared of for the last couple of years. I've heard from various sources that the kit is a bit a dog to assemble and I'm looking for any advice regarding the pitfalls with it. The steps are definitely going in the spares box, possibly along with the rainwater goods (I have a stash of Modelu components for these) and I will replace the floor with something more substantial out of styrene.
Cheers Dubs

The artist, formerly known as Mrs Dubya is cat sitting this little beauty at the moment.
Nothing much special about that except that little fluffkin there will most definitely be a descendant of not only our long gone kitties (Kitty and Peggy 😭) but most definitely will be a GGG grandchild of "Burglar Bill", black and white stallion of the Foxhill estate in Bath. He must of been gone for 10 years or more but a good 75-80% of all existing kitties will be a result of Bill. I remember the last time I saw him, looking very disheveled, dragging himself off to his next 'conquest' 🤣

It is however a shame it’s only available on the high spec / expensive option model.
It's a DCC function isn't it?

It cannot be good that one company can do models already done by others and everyone loves them for doing it, but when another company does the same thing it's somehow bad. All model companies should be able to pick and choose which models they believe they can sell to it's customers.
Personally it's just disappointment that we're not going to see something unique from Bachmann. I agree it's good for the market and therefore us but there's plenty of stuff out there that we don't have or that needs a retool to modern standards.
Nevermind 😕

The film is supposedly set in Ireland but was actually filmed over the border from here in Devon.
Brilliant film! It's been a while since I saw it but I'd most definitely watch it again!
