  1. Yes they are SR livery coaches so would have run with the Oxford Radial in SR livery.
  2. No, wartime would be "Southern", BR didn't exist until 1948. Can't see a Hornby SR (Southern Railway) livery Radial though (as opposed to the BR Southern REGION / BR{S} liveries in the guises of R3333 BR early crest / R3334 BR late crest) . Cheers edit: Oxford Diecast OO SR 488 Adams 4-4-2T Radial Tank Southern Livery OR76AR003
  3. I'd go the fish and chips route and keep the pies for an emergency. (such as an after the after pub type emergency)
  4. Diagram 99's were Brake Thirds and Diagram 418's were Brake Compo's (Hornby R4717 and R4719) (sets 42 -46) Cheers edit to add the set no's:
  5. Adams 0415 Radial, diagram 99 and 418 coaches, all from Hornby (not sure of exactly which set(s), as I don't have my books with me but sets 42 - 46 were all allocated to the west country). Obviously you have a choice on the manufacturer for the Radial. Cheers
  6. went to see Bowie without Bowie in Bristol last night, top stuff (and Guinness for tea again too!)

How could you see Bowie if he wasn't there? And didn't you eat anything for tea, just the Guiness? Pork pies are nice.

Holy Holy is the answer. No pies!

  7. You're welcome. I did have a go at the Roxey kits for these rebuilds with disastrous results. Luckily Dave was able to supply me the parts I had murdered on my first attempt but these are still waiting for me to have another go. I also have the Branchlines versions (Ebay bargain) to build but I suspect I'll be buying the Hornby coaches while I pluck up the courage (will need to repaint unless they are released in BR(S) guise). Cheers
  8. Just a suggestion, I can't solder either !
  9. Top stuff and I won't have to burn my fingers making the Roxey / Branchlines kits.. YAY!
  10. and I won't have to build the Roxey and Branchlines kits I have! Very good news indeed Cheers
  11. If the wait ensures an accurate, reliable and smooth running loco, then it doesn't really matter when it arrives, does it?
  12. "Hi Tim, I emailed Chris a month ago about the Phoenix Ironclad push-pull coaches but have had no reply. Did you ever hear from him? Regards, Adrian" Hi Adrian I've heard nothing at all. I placed my original order in March 2014, so I think I've been patient. Chris at SRG did have very bad time last and early this year, so I understand that Phoenix sales will not have been a priority to him (he does the production in a voluntary capacity as Sales Officer). However, what really does annoy me is that the SRG website still states an "active" sales operation for Phoenix kits (and are still touting for business via postings on the SEMG Yahoo Group!). The website should must be updated to make it clear that Phoenix kits are not available at the present time (or just simply take down the kit pages until they are back in full production). Maybe it might be better if SRG put Phoenix up for sale so that someone who does have the resources to put the range back into production can do so. These are fantastic kits and it would be such a shame if they disappear into oblivion like so many others in recent times. My main motivation for joining SRG was to gain access to the Phoenix kit range (these were advertised on the site, at that time, as only available to SRG members ) and I am now finding it difficult to justify renewing my membership in the future. Cheers Frustrated of 71G Update: 21/07/15 - My emails are still being ignored!
  13. My brother-out-of-law was an extra in it. I watched the whole lot and missed the 2 seconds that he was actually in!
  14. Excellent news! Do you know if he will be updating his website?
