  1. No, the problem is the useless m o r o n s in charge.
  2. Evening all. Continued wishes to Dave, I hope that Is can come home soon. Today has been a busy one, with a day of management meetings as part of our planning for next year. A very productive day, but I feel very tired now. I should have spent time on report writing tonight, but I could not face it so I popped over to the local model railway group instead. The layout is progressing well. I only wish I could have helped more with the scenic developments recently but work has got in the way. The University tutor emailed today to pass on the results of his visit to see the student teacher. As I thought, a glowing report - she is set to get an outstanding grade. All she needs is a job - just a shame that we have not got a post for her at present. Another busy day beckons. Have a good one.
  3. They have sewing on television?? You will be telling me next that they will stick a few people in a house and film them all day and call it entertainment....

Well, they do stick such … stuff … on the box - and lots of us definitely DON'T call it even remotely watchable, never mind entertainment.

Live nest cams on Springwatch on the red button. Better behaved than a few people stuck in a house

I believe this type of show is known as "slow telly".

  4. Ok, ok I should have proof read. B##### IPad has a mind of its own. I should know better having been caught out before. I blame excessive tiredness caused by only two hours sleep last night. Good job student was teaching so I could just sit down quietly and administer the tests. Previous post now suitably edited!!
  5. That was until the last minute equaliser!!
  6. Evening all and a Happy Anniversary to Bob. Andy.p what fantastic artwork, is there no end to your talents? Weather has been wet for much of the day. The day has been a long one after a sleepless night. Not sure what caused the lack of sleep, I just could not switch the brain off. Today is the first day of the phonics test period for the younger children. The 40 word test needs to be completed by all of the Year 1 children before the end of the week. So far they seem to have done quite well. As yet the government have not given out the pass mark, I suppose it depends what they want to prove this year. But if it is similar to the last few years then most will have passed the test. The report writing marathon continues. Four still to write!
  7. Extremely good suggestion. Don't forget Mr Benn.
  8. Don't forget such classics as Finger Bobs
  9. Not a cricket fan. Boring game in my opinion, so forgive me for spelling his name wrong and appreciate the humour. Besides you are wrong. Flinthoff was a character in Allo Allo.
  10. So what is wrong with a bit of wombling??
  11. Man I feel like a woman - Shania Twain Hat, coat, ruuunnnnnn
  12. He used to play there before he met Freddie Flinthoff on a boost night out. His career has drifted ever since.

    Top Gear?

Just watched tonight's show. The two new presenters show promise and produced the most enjoyable films of the night. Sabine has been in two films and I am yet to see the fuss over her, time yet though as she clearly is a talented driver (and she made CE throw up!!). The show was average, but there were several episodes under the old regieme that fell into that category.
  14. I won't let the sun go down on me- Nik Kershaw
  15. The place I most want to visit is the Isle of Wight, this evening, for Queen headlining the Isle of Wight festival!
  16. It was Royal Standard pub actually.

    Top Gear?

Hmmm if I punched the headteacher tomorrow, or a teaching assistant, or a parent, would I keep my job? If the answer is yes then JC should have stayed in employment. If your answer is no??? END OF F@@@@@@ ARGUMENT!!!
  18. Be kind, it was written whilst in the pub!
  19. Evening all. In response to the comments on British values: * We teach the values described because it is the Curriculum and it is something Ofsted will be looking for, and will fail you as a school if you don't. * In the multicultural world we live in, tolerance of other faiths is important, especially in our school where the children are mainly white British. * In terms of alternative values I would also add the ability to form a queue, wave a Union flag at Royal occasions and to expect sporting failure!!!
  20. You had me worried there Andy. Thought you really had had a break in! Great work there Andy, it really improves the look of the fiddle yard entrance / exit. The garden looks fantastic too.
  21. Thanks Andy. As you can see I have managed to change the title of the thread.
  22. I thought that I would continue the thread rather than start a new one as I outline the developments to my fledgling garden railway. So I now introduce The Keepers Grange Light Railway The railway is a tourist line, being built around the grounds of Keepers Grange, one of the large manor houses on the edge of Skalebyshire. The house and grounds are one of the tourist attractions in the area, however it has failed to attract many visitors in recent years. Most of those who holiday in the area have preferred to visit the more famous Skaleby Hall which is a National Trust property and is known for its wonderful gardens. The previous owner of Keepers Grange has recently passed away with the estate bequeathed to his son. The new owner has, rather controversially, decided to turn some of the grounds of the estate into a small theme park type of attraction and a narrow gauge railway is central to his plans. The intitial plan for the line is for it to run from a main station at "Saffrons Rest" before running along the West side of the site, running into Meerkat Wood and turning to skirt the Southern boundary. Here it will call at Sasha's Halt, continuing through the wood and past the dinosaur park before terminating at Amber House. Eventually the line will be extended into a full circuit but that is a longer term project. So that is the fictional history. In reality the stations are named after deceased pets who are buried in our garden. The station sites being near to the relevant pet's grave. Amber House is actually my daughter's play house! The line is to be laid at ground level and will run on concrete blocks buried into the garden. The railway is g scale and will mainly use second hand stock. The first two concrete blocks have been laid. They are shown below with track placed temporarily on top. The first item of rolling stock, a flat wagon, is posed with a track load.
  23. I will be interested to read the media response to England's game last night. Personally I felt they played very well, and were unlucky not to win. There were a lot of positives from the performance. Personally I would not have let Kane take the corners, not only do you need him to be on the end of the crosses, his delivery was poor. I would have not taken Rooney off, but moved him into Sterling's position and brought Milner on for Sterling in order to make us more solid at 1-0. Hopefully we will have the quality to get a result against Wales, and we should beat Slovakia and that will get us through to the next round.
