The delicious irony of Harrods, serving authentic "Yorkshire" tea to tourists......
.......even those, actually from Yorkshire.

Words cannot adequately express my feelings of sadness for what our dear friends John and Sandy have had to endure during Sandy's illness.
Sandy's stoicism and courage combined with John's tireless caring and open generosity in sharing their journey, have surely helped and inspired many.
Bless them both and give them ease and comfort in this, their final precious time together.

Some men have appeared over the road and appear to be studying the property with the intention of erecting scaffolding.......
Mum upon seeing the truck with its signage announced in all seriousness: "Look they're building a scaffold; that's good, it'll frighten the local thieves"......
Errrrr, no Mum.

Grey and a bit dull here this morning......
......but, enough about me!
Heard a discussion about Buddhist beliefs on the radio this morning; one of the participants had an 'interesting' accent which made the word Reincarnation, sound (indistinctly) like "Reintarnation" .......I'm afraid all I could think of thereafter, was of it being something only affecting American Hillbillies.

In the salon this morning, listening to a conversation about somebody's holiday cruise in the Fjords and how they'd heard echoing from the distance whilst out on deck.....of course, me being the way I am, with an over developed sense of fun, noted; that the governing law of acoustics that regulates the echo, is "The law of diminishing returns"
I just got a blank look in return......

My treatment, phlebotomy, scans and therapist's appts. today, left plenty of gaps and time for me to keep Mum fed and watered in The Christie hospital's refectory.
....we joked whilst keeping an eye on the blue TV. screens that give you a reminder call for your next appointment, that with their insistance on using both one's complete fore, middle and surname on screen.......they must love having to type-in my 7 and 9 letter forenames and then a 15 (incl a hyphen) letter suname........it was definitely the only name on the screen that had to scroll to be read.

At The Christie, between my appts......We're listening to the spanking new piano being played so beautifully for us by this duo in main reception.
They've made Mum weep with joy in appreciation.
So wonderfully kind and talented.

We have a 15 year old Miele Cat and Dog cylinder vacuum cleaner. However while it is very very good you can’t get one quite like it now as it had a 2.2kW motor. Aditi thought we shouldn’t be dragging a cleaner up the stairs so decided we should get an upright cleaner for upstairs. So having been pleased with the Miele we went to try their upright.
So it's "Miele Cat and Dog Vac; Reigns supreme!" .........or perhaps that should be rains?

`Off to The Christie in Mancunia tomorrow and as usual, Mum's coming along for morale support and to ensure my purse is adequately depleted at lunchtime in the staff and patient's refectory; even though I may have little appetite, she surely makes up for it!

Toads rather than frogs but...
My first teaching post was in a science department. The biology department had lots of animals, including a large tank of African clawed toads. Unfortunately over a weekend the thermostat must have failed and all that was left was a sort of toad soup.
Eeeeeewwwwww!

I lived in a house with Storage Heaters once.
Blew the Company Fuse one morning when having a shower - with the Tumble Dryer on, & the fuse on the Distribution Transformer blew a few weeks later
When I bought my E.V, the installer of the domestic charging point noted that the "cut-out" (aka: company fuse) rated 60A was woefully inadequate for the installed demand of the property; what with a 10kw electric shower, laundry washing and drying machines, dishwasher, and of course, the many transient-load appliances of daily life.
I was advised to contact my local DNO (Distribution Network Operator) whom supply the cabling part of the supply contract to your house.
They were very accommodating, and quickly arranged (after an exchange of emails and photographs of my installation) to upgrade the cut-out to 100A, all at zero cost to myself.
So, I can shower and charge the car at the same time now; see, multitasking!

My new E.V (aka the "High and Dry") has its accessory 12v large battery pack, well protected inboard in the rear tailgate area, completely hidden behind a carpeted hatch panel, it took some finding too!
I wonder if these inboard location choices are for reasons of collision impact resistance?
