`Morning E.R's.....although that description rather excludes me at the moment.
The forecast: it sounds like more rain; looking up just now, the ceiling is still heavily overcast with annoying light pushing in from the blinds, expected soon.

Our local FB page now features a stray Muscovy Duck......
That raises an existential thought: can a non-domesticated breed, be a 'stray'?

An interesting read for those with enquiring minds, concerning the August 9th nationwide power outage.
A detail technical report compiled by the National Grid ESO (Electricity System Operator)
Analysis is very detailed, including this for example:
"The disruption to rail services extended through Friday evening and into Saturday morning due to
the fact that approximately 30 trains stopped operating and could not be restarted following the
original frequency drop to 49Hz. Restarting them required a technician with a laptop to attend
each train which took some time. With these trains stopped on the tracks there were severe
delays across the rail network."- 15

A welcome surprise order for some of my 0-MF track gauges, occupied an hour or so in preparation and packing this morning, followed by a trip to the Post Office for their dispatch.
A letter arriving from the Electoral Officer at the Town Hall, concerning my non-traceability (yet again) means yet-more scanning of driving licence, birth and marriage certificates so I can exercise my voting rights this year.....they asked for the same scans last year too!

Lunch went well.
However Aditi managed to scald her abdomen with steam when opening the oven. She didn’t mention anything during lunch but now has 2 doctors (lunch guests) applying the contents of my Land Rover first aid kit to her tummy.

"There is an outbreak of Norovirus in Norfolk please do not attend a GPs surgery or visit at hospital if you have it.."
So if you're ill, don't seek attention from the only people that can tell you, you have norovirus?
It's so contagious, I'd venture to say even Google don't want people to search for symptoms or treatments there, in case it spreads.

Good to see you back. You have been very much missed by the people here.
In theory as both of you being female means that you will read the instructions rather than hide them and ignore them as do the males of the species apparently do if we are to believe the gender behaviour stereotypes.......
Nat
Thanks for the very kindly and welcoming words, Nat.
.......We did indeed "RTFM" and this is the result.
.......and without profanity (Mum's a right one for that! ) or major blood loss.
1 hour ago, Kingzance said:.......Debs, did your mother push the IKEA trolley too?.....
No, we were exhausted after the rescue team eventually found us, after four hours of intensive searching gosh, IKEA stores are not easy to make quick visits to!.....so, I found one of the helpful staff chaps and because of me being now less-abled and Mum being a senior (despite her having being well fed a Swedish lunch, was by then beginning to tire and feel miserable), he collected a trolley, lifted the item from warehouse and then accompanied us through checkout and to the car to helpfully load in.......super service, with a cheery smile and a laugh and joke too.
