  1. This may be of interest to at least one contributor. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2024/03/20/wolves-less-dangerous-dogs-brought-back-britain-rewilding/ You might need to turn off javascript to avoid the paywall. Adrian
  2. I got a mention for my suggestion on the play list challenge some time ago. Unfortunately, the mention was followed by the suggestion that I go for a walk, which I thought was a bit harsh. Adrian
  3. Somewhere on (I think) youtube, is a video that someone took of one of the train simulator programs that had been set up as a model of Hartley Bank, showing the trains running backwards and forwards from the colliery to the exchange siding (just off the top of the screen shot). Adrian
  4. Burton Green was on the LNWR (rather than GCR). Adrian
  5. Not entirely. I made an appointment at the doctors last month (yes you can get them). Unfortunately the receptionist forgot to ask who I was, and the penny didn't drop until I was half way home. When I went back for the appointment, rather than use the electronic sign in thingy, I spotted the same receptionist, and pointed out that I had an appointment, but did she know who I was ? Adrian
  6. I should be careful make comments like that, you may well have to fight off marauding bears and hippopatami. Adrian

  13. I think it still does. It just that not all of them are in optimum locations. Adrian
  14. Land Rovers do not leak oil. They mark their territories. Adrian (ex IIA owner)
  15. That reminds me of when I was buying the Manor House. I got a call from the agents one day. The vendor wanted to know why things didn't seem to be moving. I contacted my solicitors to find out. "now't to do with us guv, but we'll check". Turned out the vendor's solicitor was the hold up. The reason being that the vendor wasn't answering their questions. Good luck Graham. Adrian
  16. Apologies for posting something relevant and on topic. I went into London yesterday on the Chiltern route, and a couple of things were noticeable. Firstly, the Colne Valley viaduct gantry was still positioned over the arch immediately before (to the west of) the Grand Union canal, so remedial work on that arch still seems to be ongoing. Secondly, there were several tipper lorries leaving the (rail supplied) stone depot next to Oxford Parkway which had HS2 signs in their windscreens. I don't know where they were heading for, but at least the stone is doing part of its journey by rail. Adrian
  17. "Were you born stupid, or did you have training ?" Adrian
  18. Some lovely work, as usual. Please don't take this as a criticism. Is that signal too close to the track, or is it a perspective thing ? Adrian
  19. At Little Muddle speeds, the opening ceremony probably lasted 40 years. Adrian
  20. That seems unduly lenint. Adrian
  21. I hope the culprit was dealt with in a suitable fashion. Adrian
